Happy Foodie Friday y’all! Do you have someone on your gift-giving list for the holidays (or any time of year) that loves cooking and baking? And do you love spoiling them? Then do I have the perfect gift guide for you! This week is what I like to call the big spender edition. Why the big spender edition? Because the minimum price for these gifts is $50, but several are well over $100. Are you ready for the Cooking & Baking Gift Guide Big Spender Edition?

Cooking & Baking Gift Guide Big Spender Edition

I did try to stay away from appliances, like an Air Fryer and Insta-Pot, because those have been popular gifts recently. But I did add one, and it has been on gift guides for years. And guess what? It will be on lists for years to come. I know it’s been on mine for a long time.

1. Stand Mixer

This is the item that is probably on every gift guide ever! But there’s a reason why because they are such a useful tool and a good one will last for years! The stand mixer I have and use was given to me by my husband after he bought it at a yard sale about 15 years ago. Even better is the fact it’s from the late 1970s-early 1980s. I will love it and use it until the very end, and then I will get myself a Kitchen-Aid stand mixer.

The great thing about the Kitchen Aid stand mixer is that it comes in a rainbow of colors! That means you can get one to suit your kitchen decor. The mixers also come in a variety of sizes. So if someone bakes in larger batches, a larger capacity may be required.

2. Pans

Pans are a personal choice. Make sure you understand what your gift recipient likes to use and what they may need.

If you are looking at pans for the stovetop, make sure the pans will work for the burner type they have (electric ring, electric glass top, gas, or induction).

If you are looking at pans for baking, make sure they are pans the recipient will use-both size and style.

3. Indoor Plant Growing System

This may seem like a strange idea, but if you are like me and live someplace cold and where there’s not always a lot of light in your kitchen, this will make sense, especially if you like working with fresh herbs. They come in all sorts of sizes, but the best thing is the majority of them don’t rely on growing in the soil! Sadly, my kitchen is a bit small, but I would love something like this if I had a bit more room.

4. Drink Station or Drink Cart

Do you know someone who loves coffee or tea? Why not give them a place where they can keep all of their favorite items within reach? The image below is just an example of one way to help them create a drink station. Traditionally drink stations are tucked out of the way but with easy access. For more ideas, search Pinterest for coffee station ideas.

5. Cookbooks

Yes, I know most cookbooks are well under $50. But there are special editions and reference books that are over $50.

6. Food Related Subscription Boxes

I know, how random! Everyone knows about Hello Fresh, which delivers the ingredients for a week’s worth of dinners. But did you know there are other subscription boxes? But there are a lot of different subscription boxes you can get that are food-related. Below is a brief list of food-related boxes. I haven’t tried these, but they are ones that I am interested in.

7. Cake Decorating or Cooking Class

I can’t find any official listings, but I know many craft and hobby stores offer basic decorating classes. Local colleges may have evening or weekend classes that provide basic decorating skills or even introduce students to cuisine from around the world.

8. Skillshare Subscription

For those who don’t know, Skillshare is an online learning platform. There are 1000s of classes taught by a variety of people. Generally, people think of traditional art and design when they think of Skillshare. But the wonderful thing about Skillshare, is that there are over 750 classes just under the search term “Culinary” and over 8000 under “Baking.”

While you have to supply your own tools and ingredients for these classes, you can do them in the comfort of your own home when it’s convenient for you. So if the only time you have available is at 8:00 on a Sunday morning while everyone else sleeps, the class will be there!

9. Hollywood Handshake Hoodie

Could I honestly make a gift guide for baking and cooking without including something for the fans of The Great British Baking Show? Of course not! Those who are fans of the show understand the importance of the Hollywood Handshake. Even my family gets it, though they aren’t mega fans of the show like I am.

10. Cookie Con Tickets

Did you know that there is such a thing as Cookie Con? I found out about it a few years ago when I was bored and started randomly searching for various conventions. Ever since I learned about Cookie Con I have wanted to go.

What is Cookie Con? It is a place to learn more about cookie art, meet fellow artists, to take some classes, and find new products. Sound fun, right?

The next con is in March 2022 in Reno, NV.

And that is a brief Cooking and Baking Gift Guide: Big Spender edition! Did you find anything you want to add to your holiday wish list? Is there something that I missed?

Spoiler: Next week, I will do another gift guide, but for the smaller budget. And the week after will be stocking stuffers, which could be any price!

  1. Great gift ideas. I love the color of that Stand Mixer by the way ha ha! And the Drink Station is cool.

I would love that indoor plant growing system. I might have to look into those.

    1. I picked the color I liked the most out of the many colors available for the mixer. There’s a veritable rainbow of choices.

  2. This is a great list! And a stand mixer is a must. My current Kitchen Aid mixer long outlived the marriage it was bought to celebrate. I’ve had it for over 20 years now (that husband only lasted 2).
