Happy Tuesday y’all! This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is supposed to be Memorable Things Characters Have Said. But I’m not doing that, not that I can’t think of some great quotes. I promised y’all that I would do a budget edition of my bookish gift guide this week, and that’s what I’m going to do.

Bookish Gift Guide Budget Edition

Have you checked out my Bookish Gift Guide Big Spender Edition yet? It is a list of 10 items with a heftier price tag, many of them over $100. This week I am bringing you a Bookish Gift Guide Budget Edition. This week each item is under $50. Like last week, these items may be more or less than the target price. The price will depend upon things like sales, which item you purchase, and your location.

A few of these items would tie in perfectly with a few from last week for creating a reading nook.

1. Blanket

There is nothing better than being comfortable and cozy while reading. And what better way to be comfortable and relaxed than with a blanket?

2. Pillow

If you’re picking up a cozy blanket, why not add a pillow to up the comfy level? One of the pillows listed overs a great way to keep everything close at hand while reading. The other has four options for that reader in your life!

3. Reading Light

Does your reader like reading in bed? Or could their reading area do with an increase in lighting?

4. Reading Socks

Let’s keep the cozy mode going! Reading socks are a great addition! What makes reading socks different from regular socks? Generally, reading socks are thicker than normal socks, even thicker than slipper socks. However, some may be dress socks with fun book-related graphics. And many have a saying printed on the bottom of them.

5. Bookish Candle

A candle is a great way to make any space feel cozy! There are so many ways to interpret this item. You can find candles that smell like old books or one that brings to mind the setting of a favorite book.

6. Tea or Coffee Mug

Does the reader in your life enjoy drinking tea or coffee while reading? Why not give them a mug that is specific to them and their love of reading? You can find one with bookish statements or one that celebrates their favorite book.

7. Book Tote

Totes are a practical gift, one that can be used to carry books from the store or library or even to carry groceries home.

8. Book Sleeve

A book sleeve is simply a book envelope. Some readers use them to help keep their books more secure. I haven’t used one, but I have seen them a lot recently. They do come in various sizes, as not all books are made in the same dimensions. Some book sleeves have pockets to place a pen and some sticky notes or extra bookmarks.

9. Reading Journal

Reading journals are a great way to keep track of books read, thoughts about those books, and a variety of other stats.

10. Top 100 Books Scratch Off Poster

What is a Top 100 Books Scratch Off Poster? It is a poster with various book covers; generally, ones considered the top 100 books of all time. There are multiple genres of books typically on the posters; they range from classics such as Pride and Prejudice to modern classics such as Harry Potter. You can also find ones that are just children’s books and YA.

And that is a brief Bookish Gift Guide Budget Edition! Did you find anything you want to add to your holiday wish list? Is there something that I missed? Next week I will be doing a Stocking Stuffer Edition.

  1. Great post! Sometimes I really hate living internationally and not being able to get these items for cheap but I do love many of them. Bookish blankets, candles and totes especially—I want more! 😍 That table light with the charging port is awesome too, lol.

  2. Another great list. I was still thinking about last week’s post on Saturday, went back and read it again, and then added a few things to my Amazon wishlist, LOL! Thanks for sharing. I look forward to next week’s post as well 🙂

  3. Those socks! I’m totally buying those!

When I read physical books, I was in love with these fabric book covers— https://clothbookcovers.com/ I talked about them here on my blog, with pictures of some of my covers (which I still cherish, even though I can’t use them anymore). https://fiftytwo.blog/2021/09/09/book-blogger-hop-what-do-you-use-as-a-bookmark/

    I went off-topic this week: https://fiftytwo.blog/2021/11/09/ttt-books-you-recommend-the-most/

    Happy TTT!

  4. This is a brilliant list, especially for people who have no idea what to give others. I think most of us would love any of this.

Thanks for visiting my TTT which shows readers on the covers.

  5. This is a superb list. One can never get enough of mugs, totes and journals — but I really like the suggestions for pillow cases and the Top 100 Scratch Off Poster. Now I know what to ask for on my next birthday. 🙂
