Hey, y’all! How was your July? Mine wasn’t too terrible. We got to do a little traveling around our part of Canada and did a little camping. I might write a post about that and share a few pictures; I’ll have to see if I can find the time and energy. There was also some book shopping earlier in July, but I haven’t shared my haul yet. I am so terrible about things like that! As for my actual reading, it wasn’t great, nor was it awful! So let’s get to what we’re all here for my reading wrap up July 2022 edition!

Reading Wrap-up July 2022

Looking at my June Wrap Up, I didn’t do too bad. I had five books listed for my July TBR, and I managed to read four of them. The one I didn’t manage to get to was for one of my challenges. But I did manage to read three ARCs, finish an audiobook I started in June, and get to a new release I wasn’t expecting for a few more months! Overall, not a bad month as I read six books. Sadly, I ended up DNF one of my most anticipated books from the first half of the year.

The titles link to Goodreads.

A Brief Description of What I Read in July 2022

At Bertram’s Hotel: Miss Marple is at it again, being ever so observant while in the wrong place at the right time. This time it is an Edwardian-style hotel in the middle of London. What does it have to do with a rash of burglaries that have been happening throughout England?

The Bodyguard: This rom-com introduces readers to Hannah Gates, an executive protection agent, and Jack Stapleton, a Hollywood actor. Jack’s people have hired Hannah’s company to protect him while home visiting family as he has a stalker nearby. A mistake in identity leads to hilarious circumstances, and a chance meeting with family changes the relationship. In the end, who is protecting who? For a full review, click here.

No Parm No Foul: The second installment of the Grilled Cheese Mysteries continues to follow Carly Hale and the residents of Balsam Dell. The Halloween season is upon Vermont, which means cooler temperatures and rising tempers. When a restaurant owner is found dead in his shop, Carly takes it upon herself to figure out who the murderer is. For a full review, click here.

For Butter or Worse: This is a look into reality tv and the restaurant world. Nina Lyon is a chef with strong opinions about food, and she also hosts a reality cooking show. Leo O’Donnell co-owns his family’s Italian restaurant but knows little about cooking, and he is also Nina’s co-host. What could go wrong? For a full review, click here.

Lore: Every seven years, the gods become mortal for seven days and become hunted. But who is the hunter, and who is the hunted?

Book Lovers: This is a rom-com set in a small town in North Carolina over August. It introduces readers to Nora Stevens, a tough-as-nails literary agent, and Charlie Lastra, a dedicated book editor. After a disastrous meeting, Nora declares Charlie to be her nemesis. So what could go wrong when they run into each other in a tiny North Carolina town? For a full review, click here.

August TBR

I have five ARCs to read for August, plus my two reading challenges. One is Read Christie 2022 from the Official Agatha Christie website, and the other is a Buzzwords Challenge from Kayla over at Books and Lala. I’m unsure what book I’ll be reading for the Christie challenge as I don’t have easy access to this month’s pick, and I’ve read two of the suggested alternates. I also have a mini vacation later in August. Fingers crossed, I get everything read that I want to read.

And that is my Reading Wrap up for July 2022 and a small sample of my August TBR. How was your reading in July? What’s on your August TBR?

  1. I started doing the Buzzwords challenge this year, but I think I forgot about it and missed the last couple of months. You read some great books this month. I hope to finally get to Book Lovers soon.

    1. Before the year began, I sat in front of my bookshelf and pulled 12 books for the Buzzwords challenge and put them in a different place. It makes it a bit easier to keep up with each month. Well not really, as I’ve not read the books I’ve planned for a couple of months. And I hope you enjoy Book Lovers when you get to it.

      1. I planned the first three months, then forgot about it. I checked what I read for the next 4 and luckily I had read one that fit each month. I am back to planning again.

    1. Me too! I think I got about halfway and found I just didn’t care what happened to the characters. It’s sad because it was a book I was looking forward to reading.

  2. Not bad at all! I tend to think I’ll read a lot on vacation, and then read nearly nothing in reality. Sounds like your travels around your part of Canada would be fun!

    1. I hope to share a bit about our adventure soon. I just need to find the time and energy. This summer heat is so draining!
