Happy Tuesday, y’all! This week, Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl has handed the reins for picking the topic for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday to Susan from Bloggin’ About Books. And what did Susan come up with for this week? She wants us to share the bookish places we’ve visited or want to visit. I did a post about that a few years ago; you can find that here. Nothing has really changed since then. So instead, I’ve decided to share a list of fictional bookstores I would love to visit.
Maybe I should clarify that the list is of books I’ve read and enjoyed set in or near bookstores. I wanted to add that statement because I can’t remember the exact name of the bookstore.

Let’s get to my list of fictional bookstores I would love to visit!
Miracle Books from The Secret, Book & Scone Society by Ellery Adams
- Genre: Cozy Mystery
- Release Date: October 2017
- Why?: Nora can give people the perfect book for them, one that will help guide them to where they need to be.
Book Lane from This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page
- Genre: Contemporary
- Release Date: February 2026
- Why?: Alfie works to make everyone feel welcome and happy when they visit.
Lazy Bones Books from Chaos at the Lazy Bones Bookshop by Emmeline Duncan
- Genre: Cozy Mystery
- Release Date: July 2024
- Why?: Bailey Briggs owns and operates an independent bookstore in a small town that loves Halloween. The town loves it so much that most businesses are Halloween-themed.
Hyunam-Dong Bookshop from Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop by Hwang Bo-Reum
- Genre: Contemporary, Translated
- Release Date: January 2022 in Korean; February 2024 in English
- Why?: The bookshop fosters a sense of community.
The Literary Apothecary from The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George
- Genre: Contemporary, Translated
- Release Date: April 2013 in French; March 2016 in English
- Why?: How can you say no to a floating bookshop? One where the bookseller prescribes novels for life’s hardships?
The Book Chalet from Dead and Gondola by Ann Claire
- Genre: Cozy Mystery
- Release Date: November 2022
- Why?: The Book Chalet is in a small ski village in Colorado. And the bookstore cat? Her name is Agatha Christie.
The Kirrinfief Bookshop from The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan
- Genre: Contemporary, Romance
- Release Date: February 2016
- Why?: How could I not want to visit a bookshop in a van in Scotland?
Pages & Co from Tilly and the Bookwanderers by Anna James
- Genre: Middle Grade, Fantasy
- Release Date: September 2018
- Why?: I know visiting Pages & Co won’t let me meet my favorite characters and books. But that doesn’t mean I can’t visit a bookshop that is run by characters who adore books as much as I do.
McCredie’s Old Town Bookshop from The Christmas Bookshop by Jenny Colgan
- Genre: Contemporary, Christmas
- Release Date: October 2021
- Why?: McCredie’s feels like walking into an old library, or even your grandparents’ house. Did I mention it’s in Edinburgh?
The Stowford Bookshop from Christmas by the Book by Anne Marie Ryan
- Genre: Contemporary, Christmas
- Release Date: October 2021
- Why?: Nora and Simon give back to their community by spreading some holiday cheer anonymously. I feel like I need to do everything to spread some cheer to them.

Fictional book stores are great, too! The bookstore itself was the best part of Chaos at the Lazy Bones Bookshop, and I’d love to go there, too.
