Happy February! January 2022 was definitely an interesting month for me, especially at work. I was given the opportunity to spread my wings at work, which after only a couple of months on the job, it was an exciting change. Now I have to adjust and pull back a bit again. And that stinks! One thing that the work changes impacted was my reading. I had more time to read, which was good. So let’s get to what we are all here for, my Reading Wrap Up January 2022!

Reading Wrap Up January 2022

Reading Wrap Up January 2022

Looking back at the January TBR I gave myself in my December reading wrap up, I managed to read all of them. Sadly I didn’t love them all, but I did read them all. As for the reading challenges I’m participating in, I completed both. Yay! This month, there was a DNF; it was an audiobook that I struggled to connect to the characters. I read three ARCs this month, which was one more than I initially thought I would.

For more information about each book, the titles will take you to Goodreads, and the images will take you to Amazon.

A Brief Description of Books I Read in January 2022

Appointment with Death: Hercule Poirot investigating a murder with an interesting cast in the Middle East.

The Christie Affair: Marriage, infidelity, murder! And a disappearance that brings a country to a standstill!

Where’d You Go Bernadette: A mom who has lost herself along the way, struggling with her mental health, goes on a trip and finds herself along the way.

A Spindle Splintered: A fantastical retelling of Sleeping Beauty.

Secrets of the Sprakkar: An examination of Iceland’s attempts at gender equality.

Sadie: A girl is searching for answers and revenge.

In the Hall with the Knife: A winter storm has isolated a private school from the town, leaving ten people on campus. In the morning one of them is dead, but who is guilty?

The Vinyl Cafe Celebrates: An anthology of short stories, each of which celebrates various parts of life.

Put Out to Pasture: A farmer in Michigan is trying to resurrect her family farm, and finds herself having to deal with with a murder at an autumn celebration. Her best friend is the main suspect, but is she guilty?

February 2022 TBR

In February, I have four ARCs to read. Then, I will also continue on two different reading challenges. One is Read Christie 2022 from the Official Agatha Christie website, and the other is a Buzzwords Challenge from Kayla over at Books and Lala. Also, in February and into March, I have four books to read for CBC Canada Reads 2022, but those being read will depend upon availability from my local library.

That is my Reading wrap up for January 2022 and a small sample of my February TBR. How was your reading in January? What’s on your February TBR?

  1. Thanks so much for recommending Secrets of the Sprakkar. I finished it recently and really enjoyed it.

  2. Sounds like a great month for reading! I hope the job issues sort themselves out soon. I know what it can be like to make changes and then have to re-adjust them later. (I’m currently in the process of stepping back from additional duties I took on at work a little over a year ago because it’s not working out for me. So I feel your pain even though the situation is different.)

    1. It’s a quick read, and I enjoyed it. It’s a different take on Sleeping Beauty’s story.
