Happy Tuesday, y’all! Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl handed this week’s Top Ten Tuesday over to Heather from The Frozen Library. And what did she pick for this week? Heather wants us to share bookish candles we would make if we could. This is a lot harder than I thought it would be; some books have perfect scents that would match them. Others, not so much. Who wants to see bookish candles I want based on my recent reads?

Bookish Candles I Want Based on Recent Reads

I will admit here that I am a lover of candles. I tend to gravitate towards candles with a sweet scent. You know, the ones that smell like baked goods. YUM! I’m not a massive fan of floral-scented candles, as they tend to be too much like perfume.

So, let’s see what bookish candles I want based on my recent reads!

Camp Half-Blood from The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

Hercule Poirot’s Chambers from The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie

St Mary Mead from Murder at the Vicarage by Agatha Christie

Maple Bay from The Treasure Hunters Club by Tom Ryan

Nymans from Time to Rise by Helene Holmström

Lazy Bones Bookshop from Chaos at the Lazy Bones Bookshop by Emmeline Duncan

Shakerie from Love, Lies, and Cherry Pie by Jackie Lau

Skel Restaurant from Death on the Island by Eliza Reid

Lacombe from Finding Flora by Elinor Florence

That’s nine bookish candles I want based on recent reads. I had a lot of fun creating the labels. Now, if only I can find a way to make these candles a reality! What are some bookish candles you’d like to have based on recent reads?

  1. Thanks for the brilliant post, Pam! I love that you’ve based your candle ideas on specific locations in the books, it’s such a creative twist! The idea for a Camp Half-Blood candle from The Lightning Thief is a stroke of genius.

  2. I also love scented candles and tend to stick with sweet scents. I shy away from more sophisticated scents and would actually never buy an “old books” one or anything similar. Well done with the topic! I didn’t even try, LOL.

    Happy TTT!

  3. So clever! I love that TTT-ers are creatively putting this topic together. I think it’s really fun but I’m just not that clever. 🙂 Your combos seem fitting. Thanks so much for visiting my list!

  4. I struggled with this one so I took another route, but I love your selection of candles! Camp Half-Blood especially sounds like a scent I’d love 🙂

  5. Wow, you did a fabulous job and I LOVE your labels!! I do love candles, but like you, the more fruity, citrus ones, not floral ones. Have a great week!

  6. Oh my goodness! You did such a fantastic job with this!! You got very detailed and I’m so jealous of your brain right now. haha!

    1. I remember seeing someone selling bookish candles as a craft show. I was so disappointed with their choice for the Percy Jackson series. I think they went with scents from Sea of Monsters with a combo of ocean and fire.

  7. This is such a cool post! I love how you created labels and everything to go with the idea. The scent of the Lazy Bones Bookshop sounds like my ideal candle!
