Happy Tuesday, y’all! This week, Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl handed the reins to Cathy from WhatCathyReadNext. So, what does Cathy want us to discuss this week? She wants us to discuss book titles that contain nationalities. Consider me surprised when I checked the books I’ve read, and only found a couple. So I’ve had to pivot this week. Sorry Cathy! Instead, I’m going to share some of my recent reads with real place names in the title.
I’ll have to say that recent reads is slightly inaccurate. Why? I had to go back a few years. All titles will lead to Goodreads.

And that’s some of my recent reads with real place names in the title. Some of these are places I’d love to visit. I’ve actually visited one, but I didn’t see much outside of the zoo. I almost did this topic, too, since I was having trouble finding ten different nationalities in the titles on my TBR list. I got there in the end, but it wasn’t easy! Great list. I’ve been to Paris and to the Caribbean (Jamaica).

I haven’t been to an of these locations, but there are several here I would love to see.
It may be a twist on the official topic, but it’s pretty darn close! (And Ghosts of Honolulu counts for the official prompt too, since it has “Japanese” in the subtitle.)

I’m hoping we get to do places or cities in the title because that is so much easier than nationality. Great twist on this one!
Nationalities was way harder than I thought it would be. Especially as I was trying to stick to books I’ve read.

It was an enjoyable read. In many ways, it’s a retelling of the Audrey Hepburn movie Roman Holiday.

Christmas in the Arctic looks so cute! I am a fan of anything Arctic. I must like a cold setting. Lol.
You went with a twist, BUT did find some really original places, I think – I mean places that don’t often show up in book titles, well done!
You’re right, some of these places seem to appear more in nonfiction than fiction.

I immediately thought of several books by Marjan Kamali with Tehran in the title, as well as Elif Shafak’s The Bastard of Istanbul.
