Happy Tuesday, y’all! This week, Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl has handed the reins for picking the topic for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday over to Anne from Head Full of Books. Actually, Jana is borrowing this idea from Anne. So what idea is that? Anne likes to share what she was reading on a certain date over the previous ten years. While I wrote a post around this idea, it just felt clunky and not that interesting. So instead, this week I’m continuing my alphabet challenge focused on author names. Today, we’ll look at ten “B” author names.

"B" Author Names: Alphabet Challenge

  1. I love Jessica Brockmole. Skye was a sweet story and I liked it but I had big problems with the story. How did she keep all these letters secret from the Post Office employees on that island for starters? Gossip would have crucified her! lol .Details, details! And him deciding to call her “Sue”? But a very sweet story

    1. It’s a fantastic read, and one I will not stop telling people to read. And I may have cried a bit at the end.

  2. Backman is my all-time favorite author! I just bought a ticket last night to see Travis Baldree at my local indie store in October! Great list

    1. I’ve seen that she’s leaning more into the horror genre, which isn’t quite my thing. But I did enjoy This Poison Heart.

  3. Nice list! I would add Hallie Rubenhold who wrote a fascinating nonfic book about the victims of Jack the Ripper. She did a wonderful job at humanising these women whose identities are so often wronged and mischaracterised.

  4. I like your Top Ten Authors using a letter of the alphabet. That would be fun to do. I like books by Backman and I wans to read something by Travis Baldtree.

The B author I would suggest would be Simon Brett. He started writing mysteries in 1975 and I have read books from his first two series. He has started several series since, and I am thinking of trying his newest series, the Major Bricket series, so he was on my mind. Mostly a mix of mystery and comedy.

Thanks for checking out my TTT post.

  5. I loved Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree! Fredrik Backman is one of those authors I’ve been meaning to read for ages, hopefully I’ll be able to read a book by him soon 🙂
