Happy Tuesday, y’all! This week, Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl is asking us to share books that we can’t believe we’ve never read. I’m not one to look at really hyped books and think, oh yeah, I want to read that! Occasionally, one will catch my eye, and I’ll give it a try. Sometimes it’s a success, other times it’s a failure. So instead, I thought I would start a new alphabet challenge. A few weeks ago, I finished an alphabet challenge based on titles. You can find those lists here. This week I’m starting a new challenge, focused on author names. Today, we’ll look at ten “A” author names.

All the authors’ images are from their websites, which are linked to their names. I’ve included a book by the author as well.
Now let’s look at ten “A” author names!
Julie Abe

Abe writes mostly middle-grade and young-adult novels. No matter the age, her books all have a fantastical element.
Sara Ackerman

Ackerman’s books are all set in Hawaii. The majority of her books are historical fiction, but she has also written contemporary novels.
Ellery Adams

Adam’s is most known for her cozy mysteries. But she has recently released a novel classified as a thriller.
Sara Nisha Adams

Adam’s debut novel, The Reading List, is a best-selling novel about a love of books.
Sarah Adams

Adam’s is well known for writing contemporary romances set in the US.
Jussi Adler-Olsen

Adler-Olsen is best known for the series Dept. Q, a Danish thriller adapted for Netflix.
Kaia Alderson

Alderson is best known for writing historical fiction featuring strong African American women.
Poppy Alexander

Alexander writes contemporary novels, often with a romantic element.
Sarah Addison Allen

Allen writes contemporary stories with a hint of magical realism, all set in the Southern US.
Mary Kay Andrews

Andrews’s books are generally set in the Southern US and feature contemporary settings with a touch of romance.
That’s ten authors I’ve read and enjoyed, with “A” names! Have you read any of these authors with “A” names? Are there any “A” author names you would recommend I read?

Oh, you interpreted this week’s topic quite differently than I did. Still, good to see you make a start on your new alphabetical challenge.
I’ve barely started my alphabet challenge, but I’ll keep this idea in mind for the future. 🙂
A Danish mystery series! I love reading mysteries and Thrillers from other countries! Thanks for sharing!
Another author you may enjoy is Ragnar Jonasson from Iceland. The first book of his read, Reykjavik, is a standalone mystery.
Thanks for that! I read Outside by him and never wanted to try another, but if his other books are better I would try another!
I haven’t read that one yet.
I’ve read The Reading List which I enjoyed. I took a quick look on Goodreads at books I’ve read and came up with Nina Allan (A Granite Silence), Kate Atkinson (Transcription), Isabel Allende (My Name is Emilia del Valle) and Martin Amis (The Zone of Interest). Spotted loads of Bs along the way!
I’ve been tempted to try Atkinson, but for some reason I haven’t do so yet.
I’ve read something by all but two of your listed A authors.
Thanks for sharing your #TTT
ooo I love Sarah Addison Allen books! Thanks for stopping by RimSP 🙂
Ooh, I love this! I’m definitely going to keep this on my radar as I’m coming to the end of my alphabet challenge too 😍 I haven’t read any of these authors yet but I do have Julie Abe, Sara Nisha Adams, and Sarah Adams on my list (I wonder how many Adams will appear on mine, lol)!
I hope you enjoy those authors when you get the chance to read some of their books. And I look forward to your list.
Sarah Addison Allen! Only one book disappointed [I have a few to read] I loved the Sugar Queen and I’m not big on magical realism, but I love her version of it.
There’s something about the way she writes magical realism that makes it feel believable.
Right? Love her writing. The only one I had a problem wtih was the one sequel–too much abuse for me.
I have a few books by Sarah Adams, but haven’t read any – yet! I think I did read one by Poppy though. 🙂 Thanks for visiting my list today.
I love that you’re already done with your first alphabetical list and starting a new one! Way to go! I’ve missed the last few TTTs but I’ll have to go back and find yours.

I’ve read a couple of these. I read The Littlest Library and Deep Dish. Loved them both.
How fun! Another great way to highlight authors we love. Have a good week!
Great list! I’ve been meaning to try Ellery Adams’ work.
I hope you enjoy reading her books when you get the chance.
Nice list, Pam. I’ve read all but Julie Abe and Sarah Addison Allen.
When In Rome looks like a really cute read.
It was a fun read. In some ways it’s a take on Roman Holiday.
Couple of authors I really enjoy here – Sarah Adams, Jussi Adler Olsen & Sarah Addison Allen.
I’ve been eyeing Ackerman and Adams at the library. Maybe I should try them soon.
I hope you enjoy them when you get the chance.
Fun top ten concept! Thaven’t read any of these authors. However, there are two I will going to check out.
I’ve read a book (maybe two?) by Ackerman, but that’s it from your “A” authors. *Sigh* So many books, so little time…
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

I love Ackerman’s Pearl Harbor books…my fav is Radar Girls! Her contemporary ones not as much. Although I enjoyed Uncharted Flight of Olivia West which has a dual timeline.
Oh, FANTASTIC new challenge! I’m so in awe of how you’ve come up with both these life-savers for awkward TTT topics!
I was wondering what you’d do once you got to the end of the alphabet! Nice choice for a theme.
I’m glad you are now doing an alphabet of authors!
This post reminds me that I still have Radar Girls and The Littlest Library to read. Thanks for sharing.
