Happy September, y’all! How was your August? Did it go by in a blink for you too? No, just me? That’s ok, I’m used to that. At the same time, nothing really happened. What’s with that? But let’s get to what we’re here for: my August 2026 wrap-up and a peek at my September plans.

My August TBR was a tad too much. Sadly, one of the ARCs I was supposed to read for this month was a DNF. I don’t think it was the book; it was a me problem. I did manage to knock a couple of books off of my Summer TBR.
Did I read a good book in August? I would recommend any of the books I finished. My favorite read of the month is a hard one to pick. I rated three books 4.5 stars: Heartstopper: Volume 6 by Alice Oseman, Everything Comes Back to You by Jackie Khalilieh, and Beth is Dead by Katie Bernet.
September TBR
- The Twelve Loves of Christmas by Alexandra Bellefleur, etc
- A Christmas Guide to Family and Murder by Dianne Freeman
August Blog Wrap-Up & September Plans
In August, I published 11 posts. Of those 11, 5 were reviews, and 4 were TTT posts. I also did a wrap-up post and a shelf clean-up.
In July 2026, I shared my most anticipated holiday releases of 2026, and it was the most popular post in August. Of the 11 posts I published in August, the most popular was the one where I shared the ten series I hope to catch up on in 2026.
What does September have in store for the blog? I’m not 100% sure. I am planning on having four reviews and five Top Ten Tuesday posts. Oh, and I also have a cookbook to review.
Personal Stuff
What happened in August? Not a lot, but it was still interesting. My two shifts at a different location were nice enough. Managed to have a childless house for a week. My oldest went on vacation with her partner and their family. They hired the youngest to cat-sit and house-sit. We had a couple of epic rainstorms. While we need it, I don’t think we needed that much in such a short period. I’m talking several inches in an hour. There was some minor flooding around us, but no real damage. While wandering around Walmart, I was shocked to see both Halloween and Christmas decorations next to each other on the shelf.

What do I hope will happen in September? Well, the first week is vacation — YAY! And then it’s back to school for the youngest. The first two weeks contain three appointments for the kid and my husband. Then there’s another one at the end of the month. GAH!
That’s my August in a nutshell. How was your August? What was your favorite read? What are your plans for September?
