My September TBR was much easier this month. YAY! That means I finished it. I even squeezed in one of my October books. Which is good, as there’s a lot there. I even managed to knock a couple of books off of my Summer TBR.
Did I read a good book in September? I would recommend any of the books I finished. My favorite read of the month is a hard one to pick. I rated most of these as four stars. But I think I’ll have to go with the one I didn’t give a star rating. Why didn’t I give it a star rating? How can you rate someone’s life story? I’m sure you can guess which one I’m talking about, but if not, I’ll tell you. I’m going with Maus: Vol. 1 by Art Spiegelman as my favorite. But Best Wishes From the Full Moon Coffee Shop and Dreamers of the Full Moon Coffee Shop by Mai Mochizuki aren’t really that far behind.
October TBR
- Murder on 34th Street by Mariah Fredericks
- Home for the Homicides by Elle Cosimano and Hannah Morrissey
- The Christmas Competition by Zoe Allison
- The Christmas Curse by Alix Kelinda
- Eight Ways to Say I Love You by Amanda Elliot
September Blog Wrap-Up & October Plans
In September, I published 11 posts. Of those 11, 4 were reviews, and 5 were TTT posts. I also did a wrap-up post and a shelf clean-up.
In July 2026, I shared my most anticipated holiday releases of 2026, and it was the most popular post in September. Of the 11 posts I published in September, the most popular was the one where I shared my autumn TBR.
What does October have in store for the blog? I’m not 100% sure. I am planning on having four reviews and four Top Ten Tuesday posts. Oh, and I still have a cookbook to review. Whoops!
Personal Stuff
What happened in September? It started with a vacation, yay! And ended with a trip to Toronto for a book festival, yay! Everything in between was business as usual. Oh well, it happens. Not every day can be exciting, right? After looking at the pictures I took in September, I realized maybe it wasn’t all business as usual. I started attending our local junior women’s hockey games. Over the summer, I watched the Women’s Professional Baseball League (WPBL) and found myself wanting to support more women’s sports. What better place to start than a local team of high school-aged hockey players?

What does October have in store for me? Let’s see: Thanksgiving, my birthday, a date with hubby, and, of course, Halloween!
That’s my September in a nutshell. How was your September? What was your favorite read? What are your plans for October?
