Hey, y’all! How was your September? Mine was pretty good, especially reading-wise. But can we take a moment to talk about the weather? For me, once the first day of autumn arrived last week, the temperatures dropped like a rock! Don’t get me wrong; it’s great being able to turn off the air conditioning. It’s been tempting to turn on the heat, though, as the temperature has been just above freezing in the morning. About my reading, I managed to read ten books. So let’s get to what we’re all here for, my reading wrap up September 2022 edition!

Reading Wrap Up September 2022: Autumn Arrived

Reading Wrap-Up September 2022

I managed to read ten books last month! How in the world did that happen? I had time at work to listen to audiobooks and read pretty good physical books, and it was an even split between five and five. That said, I only managed to read three of the four books on my TBR from my August wrap-up.

The titles link to Goodreads.

What Did I Read in September 2022?

  1. The No-Show by Beth O’Leary

A Brief Description of What I Read in September 2022

The No-Show:  Who would forgive Joseph Carter for missing their Valentine’s Day date? Why did he miss them? Once you learn his story, it’s easy to understand his actions. Though things get a bit confusing until the final few chapters. I highly recommend the audiobook, as each main character has a distinctive narrator.

The Witches of Moonshyne Manor: Welcome to Critchley Hackle, a small town that is home to a coven of senior witches and men hellbent on a witch hunt! Queenie, Ivy, Jezebel, Ursula, Tabby, and Ruby may have been behind a magical heist years ago that went sideways. But will they be able to correct their mistakes and save their home from the wrecking ball? For a full review, click here.

This Wicked Fate: A journey of mythological proportions, all in the name of love!

Dewey Decimated: Book six of the Haunted Library Mysteries series. Set in a small town in Connecticut, you follow librarian Carrie Singleton as she finds herself solving a murder when a body is discovered in the building next to the library.

The Weed That Strings the Hangman’s Bag: Book two in the Flavia de Luce series. Flavia finds herself looking into two deaths, separated by several years.

The Matchmaker’s Gift: The Matchmaker’s Gift examines one woman’s abilities to match a couple for love over other factors and her granddaughter learning that love isn’t all bad. Sara realizes she has a gift when she was only ten years old. Two generations later, can she show Abby that true love does exist? For a full review, click here.

A Mirror Mended: Zinnia finds herself in a new situation, not a story she’s used to. But along the way, she learns that maybe you don’t need to live happily ever after.

Fight Night: Swiv is a nine-year-old living in Toronto with her mom and grandmother. When she’s kicked out of school, her grandmother tasks her with writing a letter to her absent dad. Through her letter, readers get to learn about Swiv and her family and the pain and heartbreak they have suffered.

Head Over Heels: Avery is trying to figure out what her next step in life is after a breakup finds her moving back into her childhood bedroom. She returns to the gymnastics center she trained at when she was younger. This time she’s working with a gymnast training for the 2020 Olympics. Has she found her purpose? CW/TW: sexual assault discussion.

All I Want for Christmas: Sadie finds herself on a reality show chasing her dream to become a recording artist. Max finds himself on the same show trying to prove he’s more than just his dad’s son. Forced to work together, will they be able to overcome their differences and succeed?

October TBR

I have four ARCs to read for October, plus my two reading challenges. One is Read Christie 2022 from the Official Agatha Christie website, and the other is a Buzzwords Challenge from Kayla over at Books and Lala. I’m unsure what book I’ll be reading for the Christie challenge as I don’t know the options for October yet. Fingers crossed, I get everything read that I want to read.

And that is my Reading Wrap up for September 2022 and a small sample of my October TBR. How was your reading in September? What’s on your October TBR?

  1. Nice month of reading! I’ll be reading Built to Last and Marlow Banks Re-designed later this month too.

  2. Wow, that sounds like a really great reading month! 😀 Looking at your October picks, Comfort Baking sounds right up my alley… except for the marshmallows on the cover.

    1. There are a lot of yummy recipes in the book. I’ll be posting a review in the next week or so.
