Happy Tuesday, y’all! Is it just me, or is it fun looking back at the books we read, or didn’t read, in 2023? This week, Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl, is asking us to share books we meant to read in 2023. For my list I went back to my seasonal TBR lists to see what I didn’t read from them. I also added a couple of ARCs that I ran out of time in 2023 to read. So let’s check out the thirteen books I meant to read in 2023.

Thirteen Books I Meant to Read in 2023

Most of my monthly TBRs were completed, but each of my seasonal TBRs had at least two books left over. You can find the links to the seasonal TBR posts in the heading. All titles are linked to Goodreads.

Without further ado, here are thirteen books I meant to read in 2023!

From My Winter 2023 TBR

The Mystery of Mrs. Christie by Marie Benedict | Meet Cute by Helena Hunting

From My Spring 2023 TBR

The Little Bookshop of Lonely Hearts by Annie Darling | Forever and a Day by Anthony Horowitz | Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows by Balli Kaur Jaswal

From My Summer 2023 TBR

Book Cover

The Girl with Stars in Her Eyes by Xio Axelrod | The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith | Looking for Me by Beth Hoffman

From My Autumn 2023 TBR

The Siren by Katherine St. John | The Kindred Spirits Supper Club by Amy E. Reichert | The Geography of Lost Things by Jessica Brody

ARCs Leftover from 2023

The Housekeepers by Alex Hay | Our Cursed Love by Julie Abe

The Housekeepers is a book I was excited to read. But it took so long for me to be for the ARC! Our Cursed Love is a book I requested after reading The Cursed List. I would have read it in 2023 but got bogged down with some slower reads. But I will make it a priority in 2024!

And that’s the thirteen books I meant to read in 2023. Have you read any of these? Is there one I should make a priority? What books did you mean to read in 2023?

  1. I did have a couple of these on my TBR pre-2023 but they got eclipsed by even more books I wanted to read in 2023. I’m really keen to pick up the Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows though cos I’ve heard so many good things about it. I hope you enjoy all of these whenever you read them!

    1. Our Cursed Love came out in December, so it’s possible you missed it with the holidays in full swing.

  2. I read Jessica’s years ago, and as I remember it was a fun read. Also, Amy’s looks really good, too! I like the idea of using our TBRs to share the books we meant to read, but this year, I was too afraid to go back and look at all the books I didn’t read. 😉 Thanks so much for visiting my website!

    1. The books that were leftover were from challenges I was participating in or just ones I randomly selected from the books I own.

  3. Love how you sorted them by TBR! And if you look at it per TBR, looks like you did great overall! Hope you’ll love all of these when you get to them.

  4. I haven’t heard of any of these books. I hope you can find time to

  5. I enjoyed The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency when I read it ages ago. I seem to remember really enjoying The Little Bookshop of Lonely Hearts too.

  6. Meet Cute is one that I’ve had on my TBR for so long! I hope you get to all of these and enjoy them when you do!

  7. Only two ARCs left over, not bad! Or am I just comparing to myself, ahaha. Hope you enjoy them all once you get chance!

  8. I’ve seen some excellent reviews for The Geography of Lost Things. Hope you will enjoy it!

  9. These look great. I have wanted to read No 1 Ladies Detective Agency for years! I had so many left over from my seasonal TBR I only needed 2 seasons 🙄

I hope you enjoy them when you get to them!

  10. I love coming to your page because your lists are always full of books that are new to me. This one only had one book I’m familiar with (and on my TBR), but the rest are brand new to me and all look really interesting. Hopefully, these will all be great and you’ll enjoy them immensely!
