Happy Tuesday, y’all! Is it just me, or is it fun looking back at the books we read, or didn’t read, in 2023? This week, Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl, is asking us to share books we meant to read in 2023. For my list I went back to my seasonal TBR lists to see what I didn’t read from them. I also added a couple of ARCs that I ran out of time in 2023 to read. So let’s check out the thirteen books I meant to read in 2023.
Most of my monthly TBRs were completed, but each of my seasonal TBRs had at least two books left over. You can find the links to the seasonal TBR posts in the heading. All titles are linked to Goodreads.
Without further ado, here are thirteen books I meant to read in 2023!
From My Winter 2023 TBR
The Mystery of Mrs. Christie by Marie Benedict | Meet Cute by Helena Hunting
From My Spring 2023 TBR
The Little Bookshop of Lonely Hearts by Annie Darling | Forever and a Day by Anthony Horowitz | Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows by Balli Kaur Jaswal
From My Summer 2023 TBR
The Girl with Stars in Her Eyes by Xio Axelrod | The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith | Looking for Me by Beth Hoffman
From My Autumn 2023 TBR
The Siren by Katherine St. John | The Kindred Spirits Supper Club by Amy E. Reichert | The Geography of Lost Things by Jessica Brody
ARCs Leftover from 2023
The Housekeepers by Alex Hay | Our Cursed Love by Julie Abe
The Housekeepers is a book I was excited to read. But it took so long for me to be for the ARC! Our Cursed Love is a book I requested after reading The Cursed List. I would have read it in 2023 but got bogged down with some slower reads. But I will make it a priority in 2024!
And that’s the thirteen books I meant to read in 2023. Have you read any of these? Is there one I should make a priority? What books did you mean to read in 2023?

The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith is a book I enjoyed very much.
I hope you like all of them when you do read them.
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
I did have a couple of these on my TBR pre-2023 but they got eclipsed by even more books I wanted to read in 2023. I’m really keen to pick up the Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows though cos I’ve heard so many good things about it. I hope you enjoy all of these whenever you read them!
These look like some great books. I hope you enjoy them when you get to them!

I read The Charmed List by Julie Abe, but somehow I missed Our Cursed Love! I love that you broke your list up into your seasonal TBR. That was really smart. Here’s my list: https://thestorysanctuary.com/top-ten-tuesday-books-still-on-my-tbr-after-2023/
Our Cursed Love came out in December, so it’s possible you missed it with the holidays in full swing.
I’ve been wanting to read MEET CUTE too. I hope you’re able to get to these this year.

I read Jessica’s years ago, and as I remember it was a fun read. Also, Amy’s looks really good, too! I like the idea of using our TBRs to share the books we meant to read, but this year, I was too afraid to go back and look at all the books I didn’t read. 😉 Thanks so much for visiting my website!
Exciting reads ahead, it seems! How do you classify which books you’ll be reading in their respective seasons? Do you just crave a certain genre during certain times of the year?
The books that were leftover were from challenges I was participating in or just ones I randomly selected from the books I own.
These look good! I’m especially intrigued by the cover for Our Cursed Love—it tells a story all by itself.
Here’s my TTT this week. Happy reading!
I loved Looking for Me, in fact as soon as I can fit it in, I feel a reread of that coming on.
Looking for Me was good. Punjabi Widows was “ok”
Love how you sorted them by TBR! And if you look at it per TBR, looks like you did great overall! Hope you’ll love all of these when you get to them.
I haven’t heard of any of these books. I hope you can find time to
I love bookshop books. The House Keepers has been on my mind lately, too. Hope you get a chance to read these this year.

The Mystery of Mrs. Christie sounds really interesting!
Good plan. Go back and catch those titles you meant to read every season last year!
Love how organized you are with this list. I hope you enjoy all these!
I enjoyed The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency when I read it ages ago. I seem to remember really enjoying The Little Bookshop of Lonely Hearts too.
Meet Cute is one that I’ve had on my TBR for so long! I hope you get to all of these and enjoy them when you do!
I hope you enjoy all of these when you have time! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
THE HOUSEKEEPERS was so much fun! I too have an Anthony Horowitz on the shelf I need to read…
I really liked The Lonely Hearts Book Club. I hope you get a chance to enjoy that one (and all the others!) in 2024
I think you’ll enjoy Looking For Me. My heat still belongs to Saving CeCee Honeycutt!
Those are all totally new to me ones! I hope you’re able to read them all this year!
Thanks for visiting my TTT!
Only two ARCs left over, not bad! Or am I just comparing to myself, ahaha. Hope you enjoy them all once you get chance!
I’ve seen some excellent reviews for The Geography of Lost Things. Hope you will enjoy it!
I’ve always thought that Meet Cute looks so, well, cute. I’ve been curious about that one. Hope you get to read it and more on your list.
I am embarassed to say how many ARCs I have from 2023, and maybe also 2022…Hope you get to these in 2024!
Hope you get to read these soon!
These look great. I have wanted to read No 1 Ladies Detective Agency for years! I had so many left over from my seasonal TBR I only needed 2 seasons 🙄
I hope you enjoy them when you get to them!
I loved Forever and a Day on audio, I thought it was a very good prequel to the Bond books!
THE HOUSEKEEPERS is one I’ve been meaning to read. I did read and like THE MYSTERY OF MRS. CHRISTIE. I hope you enjoy all these when you get to them.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

I hope you enjoy all of these when you get an opportunity to read them 😉
MEET CUTE is high on my TBR list as well! I hope you are able to get to these books in 2024 and enjoy them 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my Top Ten Tuesday
The Little Bookshop of Lonely Hearts and The Kindred Spirits Supper Club looks lovely. Happy reading 🙂
I love coming to your page because your lists are always full of books that are new to me. This one only had one book I’m familiar with (and on my TBR), but the rest are brand new to me and all look really interesting. Hopefully, these will all be great and you’ll enjoy them immensely!
