Happy Tuesday, y’all! February is here, am I the only one still in shock over that? Anyway, Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl handed over the reins for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday to Jennifer at FunkNFiction and Angela at Reading Frenzy. So what did Jennifer and Angela pick for this week’s topic? They want to discuss books that are quick reads, or ones that can be read when time is short. The majority of the books I’ve read at qualify are all Christmas books. And no offense, but I don’t want to talk about Christmas in February. So instead, I’m continuing the theme from January of 2023 books. This week, I’ve decided to showcase under read books I read in 2023.

Ten Under Read Books I read in 2023

What do I mean by under read books? All of these books have under 1500 ratings on Goodreads. I did exclude books that weren’t the first in a series, but if it was the first in the series it was fair game. Every book on this list I gave a four-star or higher rating! A few of these were 2023 releases, but others are older.

All titles are linked to Goodreads.

Without further ado, here are ten under read books read in 2023!

    1. The African Samurai was different than my usual, but I enjoyed it. Every Time You Go Away has some heavy discussions.

  1. What an interesting list. I love the idea highlighting books that don’t have many reviews. The only books here that I’ve heard of is The African Samurai, which I have on hold at my library. I’ll have to check out some of these other books.

  2. I am sometimes shocked when I learn that a book I really like is under read or under reviewed. Once I was the first reviewer on a book, which was a huge shock.

  3. Ooh interesting topic twist! That would take some serious digging on my part to see what books were under-read! Kudos to your investigating!

    Thanks for visiting my TTT!

    1. Goodreads has a sort option that allows you to sort by the number of ratings. Have fun digging through your books.

  4. Some of these look really fun and cute! Miss Matched is one I’ll have to read more about and Jacqurline is one I read about a long time ago (so thanks for that reminder). Love that you spotlight underread or rated novels. That’s always fun to do. 🙂 Thanks for visiting my website today!

  5. I read The Predictable Heartbreaks of Imogen Finch and I love you top ten twist this week! I’m intrigued by some of these, particularly Miss Matched.

  6. These all sound so good! I’ve heard of The African Samurai, so I am happy to see that it was a good one. The rest are new to me, so it looks like I have some more books to add to my TBR!

    1. The African Samurai is a good read, the story may be a bit heavy at times. But I think that’s due to the setting more than anything.

    1. I think that’s what I always try to do. I’ve never been a fan of reading overhyped books, because too often I don’t enjoy them. Of course there are exceptions (like Heartstopper), but generally super hyped books just don’t work for me.
