Happy Tuesday, y’all! This week, Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl gave Laurie C from Bay State Reader’s Advisory the reins to pick this week’s topic. And what topic did Laurie C come up with? They are asking us to share ten books for armchair travelers. I’ve done similar posts lots of times: the US (here), Canada (here), road trips (here), assorted places (here), Toronto (here), and Michigan (here). This week, I’m featuring books that have people on vacation or trips that I would like to take. It’s time to plan that vacation!

  1. These are all new to me but I’ve heard good things about Secret Nights and Northern Lights. It’s my goal to see the Northern Lights someday. I started learning Norwegian because I might want to go on the Chasing the Northern Lights cruise someday and that cruise’s ports are all in Norway, lol.

  2. I thought about Christie too. There’s a few that would have worked for this topic.

And I keep saying that Libby Page book everywhere. I don’t think it’s for me but I may be too curious to pass it up 🤔

    1. It honestly is! I finished it earlier this month, and it has seriously impacted my enjoyment with other books. It’s like nothing else can compare.

  3. Two books with Northern Lights on the cover!! I haven’t read either, but they both look so appealing! I do love Jenny Colgan’s books — they always make me feel swept away to whatever small town she’s writing about. Great list!

  4. Hey Pam, I haven’t read any of these! I love the sound of the ones taking us to a remote Scottish island though, and of course I am always up for reading more Agatha Christie! 😊

  5. I enjoyed Killers of a Certain Age. I think maybe there is a sequel now. Pretty sure I also read that Jenny Colgan but sometimes I get her books confused.

    1. I read the sequel to Killers of a Certain Age, Kills Well with Others, last year and loved it too. As for Jenny Colgan’s books, I’ve found a few times that the titles have been changed over time.

  6. What a great list! I really love how you explain ALL the places the characters visited in each book. I need to read The Summer of You. I have it. It’s just collecting electric dust in my Kindle. LOL! This Book Made Me Think of You has the best cover. So cute!

  7. I’ve read and enjoyed a couple of these!

This Book Made Me Think of You is right at the top of my must read soon list, which is different to my TBR list! It sounds so good, and even better now that I know it has those great destinations in them!

    1. It’s my first true 5 star read for the year. And has kind of left me suffering through a book hangover most of this month. Nothing has really struck the same chord for me, which is unfortunate, because I’ve read a few books I really wanted to love.

  8. Great list, Pam! All of these sound great and make me want to travel to those places. The only one I’ve read off your list is Killers of A Certain Age (which I loved) but I’ve got a few others on my TBR already. Love all the Alaska, Iceland, Norway locations—they’re all places I’d love to visit IRL too.
