Happy Thursday y’all! Hope you are having a great week. Today I decided to give the TBR Book Tag I found over at Emily The Book Nerd a shot. Why not head over and give her a read as well.

For those who don’t know, a TBR is a To Be Read list. It’s a great way for readers to keep track of what books they want to read. And let’s face it there are always new books we want to read.

Let’s get to this tag!

How do you keep track of your TBR list?

Simply put, I use Goodreads. Their app has been a life-saver when I’m out and about. The app has a scan function, which allows me to looks and see if I have already read the book and if it’s on my TBR. Let’s face it, no one can remember EVERY book they’ve read. If they can, I am jealous!

Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?

Print books. I have tried reading an e-book a couple of times, and did not enjoy it. Of course, that could have been the fact I was trying to use a tiny smart phone instead of an actual e-reader. What is a good e-reader? Can I use a tablet, or do I need to purchase an actual e-reader?

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

This year I am participating in a few different monthly reading challenges, so I have books set aside for those each month. I will either just grab the one that interest me, or had them to my husband or oldest child and ask them to pick. Once I finish the challenge books I will just grab one. This month I finished my challenge books, and had a library book waiting for me. I thought that was a good place to start to finish the month.

A book that has been on your TBR the longest.

If I had been asked this last month, that would have been Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, and that had been on there since at least 2011. Now that I finally knocked that one out, the book that’s been there the longest is Tess of the D’Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. I used to have a copy, but I’m not sure where it went since moving.

A book that you recently added to your TBR list?

I’ve added a lot of books lately. My husband laughs every time he sees my TBR and the fact it’s grown a lot since the fall. But the most recent book I’ve added to my TBR is The Girl from the Channel Islands: A WW II Novel by Jenny Lecoat.

A book on your TBR list strictly because of its beautiful cover.

That’s a great question. I will admit a good cover grabs my attention, but I’m not sure I’ve ever added a book to my TBR just because of it’s cover. The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner intrigues me, both the story and the cover art.

A book on your TBR that you never plan on actually reading.

If it’s on my TBR, I’m hoping to read it at some point. It may just come down to actually finding a copy of the book to read. But possibly England, England by Julian Barnes. It’s a book I’ve debated a few times about picking up when I’ve seen it. I’m just not sure if it’s one I really want to read.

An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited about.

I would have to say that I am most excited by The Final Revival of Opal & Nev by Dawnie Walton. The release date isn’t too far off, so that’s a good thing. I only have to wait until March 30, 2021.

A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read but you.

It’s probably a tie between The Alice Network by Kate Quinn and Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. I have tried to get my hands on them since they were released, but the library has always had a long waitlist. I finally managed to get a copy of The Alice Network right before Christmas, so I hope to read it this year. Will it be worth the wait and the hype?

A book on your TBR everyone recommends you.

I’m not sure honestly, as I don’t talk books with a lot of people. I do watch a few Booktubers, and I am part of a couple of book groups on Facebook. But I don’t think any of them have recommended a book specifically to me. The Lost and Found Bookshop by Susan Wiggs is a book that I did recently add to my TBR after seeing it mentioned in one of the book groups I belong to.

A book on your TBR you’re very excited to read.

It’s on my TBR, of course, I’m excited to read it. But very excited? The Mystery of Mrs. Christie by Marie Benedict. I love reading Agatha Christie’s books, and why not some fiction about her?

The number of books on your Goodreads TBR shelf.

As of today, my TBR is at 227. It has grown a lot in the past few months.
