June 2023 Goodreads TBR Shelf Clean-Up

Howdy, y’all! It’s time for my June 2023 Goodreads TBR Shelf Clean-Up. I wonder if this will help me reduce the number of books on my TBR. Who am I kidding? I’m a reader; of course, I will forever add books. In May 2023, I had 626 books. Today, I have 616. That is a bit of a drop. Yay me! Will my June 2023 Goodreads TBR shelf clean-up help that number drop any?

I saw this Goodreads TBR Clean-Up post at Megan’s Book Stacks and knew I had to try it, and Megan found it over at MegaBunnyReads.

The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman

My Thoughts

A group of seniors who investigate unsolved murders? That sounds like a fun read! I have heard mixed reviews; I’m unsure if they were for this book or the whole series. Anyway, I want to see the fun for myself!

My Thoughts

Historical fiction with a strong female lead? And it’s based on a true story? How can I not want to read this? I mean, seriously? We need to learn more about the activities of women in the past; they were more than just wives and mothers.

My Thoughts

I will admit my first instinct when I saw this today; I would delete it. But after reading the synopsis, I’m not so sure. Fantasy isn’t my go-to genre, but I have found some recently that I enjoy reading. Have you read this one? Should I give it a try?

My Thoughts

The story sounds interesting, but it also feels like something I’ve read before. And I’m not sure I’m interested in reading it again.

And that is my June 2023 Goodreads TBR Shelf Clean-Up. It looks like I cleaned my shelf up a little! Out of the five books, I’m keeping four. As for the one I’m deleting, it’s not to say I wouldn’t give it a read if I ended up with a copy.

This was fun. I may do it now and then to help keep my shelf realistic. In the past, I just added books without really thinking about it. Will I stop doing that? Of course not! What kind of animal do you think I am?
