Happy January, y’all! How was your December 2025? Were your holidays quiet and peaceful? Or were they chaotic and crazy? For me, it was a mix of both. So, why don’t we get to the reason we’re all here, my December 2025 Wrap-Up, and a quick look at my January plans?

Secret Santa by Sophie Jomain
The Christmas Kill by Nick Carter
Christmas, Criminals, & Campers by Tonya Kappes

Review: A nice NA holiday romance.
Review: Kitchsy pulp fiction.
Review: Quick read, perfect for the crazy holiday season.
Out of the ten books I had on my holiday TBR, I managed to read four. While not great, it’s still not terrible. And it’s four books off my shelf!
Of the books I read in December, by far the best was Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera. It was almost perfection! I highly recommend everyone read it. The audiobook is the best way to consume it, trust me. When in Rome by Sarah Adams, The Matzah Ball by Jean Meltzer, Yours for the Season by Uzma Jalaluddin, and Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez are all solid 4-star reads.
January TBR
- Is This a Cry for Help? by Emily R. Austin
- The Arctic Cruise by Caroline James
- The Winter Witch by Jennifer Chevalier
December Blog Wrap-Up & January Plans
In December, I published 12 posts. Of those 12, 5 were reviews, and 5 were TTT posts. There was also a wrap-up and a shelf clean-up.
In September 2022, I started my alphabet series, sharing titles that started with the letter A, which was also the most popular post overall in December. Of the 12 posts I published in December, the most popular was my Winter TBR.
What does January have in store for the blog? That’s always a great question! There are four reviews and four TTT posts planned. Somewhere along the line, there will be some 2025 wrap-up posts.
Personal Stuff
My December was relatively uneventful. My daughter’s appointments at the beginning of the month went relatively smoothly. If only my body would cooperate. I’ve been dealing with knee pain for the majority of December. Since turning 50 in October, it feels like my body is revolting against me.
My husband and I had a lot of fun at our movie/concert date. It was so entertaining watching The Muppet Christmas Carol with a live orchestra. The musicians obviously played the soundtrack, but they also handled some of the movie’s sound effects. You know how the movie starts with the Disney logo and Tinker Bell drawing the castle? They played that too! I think this experience has spoiled us.
What does January have in store for us? Not a lot until the end of the month. Our baby is turning 18 at the end of the month. We have no idea how that happened. No one in the house is ready, including her. But she is excited about her birthday gift, as she and her best friend are going to their first concert. I’m tagging along as a chaperone, though I won’t be going to the show. Instead, I’ll have a Saturday night to myself in Toronto.
That’s my December in a nutshell. How was your December? What was your favorite read? What are your plans for January?

Sounds like December was overall a good month for you, though I’m sorry to hear about the knee pain. I also read The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding this month, though I only read the titular short story and not the whole collection. It was still fun!
I will have to check out Listen for the Lie. I love me a good audiobook, so I will go that route. I hope you enjoy yourself in Toronto and that that knee pain gets resolved. Happy New Year!
It was such a fantastic audiobook!
