Happy Tuesday y’all! I hope your week is going well. For this week’s Top Ten Tuesday, Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl wants us to share the 2021 Releases I Was Excited to Read But Didn’t Get Around to Reading. Let me start by saying I read a lot more new releases in 2021 than I usually do. Thirty out of the 100 books I read last year were new releases. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a bunch I still really want to read. Let’s look at ten 2021 Releases I Hope to Read in 2022.
Book 1: Lore by Alexandra Bracken
I added this book to my TBR around its release, which was over a year ago now! The premise sounds so interesting, but I think I haven’t picked it up yet because I keep hearing mixed reviews.
Book 2: Angel of Greenwood by Randi Pink
I added this book to my TBR last summer after hearing about it. It covers a part of history that isn’t discussed much: the Greenwood Massacre in Tulsa in 1921. I received a copy for Christmas, so I have no excuse not to read it this year.
Book 3: Between Two Kingdoms by Suleika Jaouad
This is another book I added to my TBR around its release. When I first saw the book in the store, I thought it was just another travel memoir. It is, in a way, but it also seems like so much more.
Book 4: The Rose Code by Kate Quinn
I’m not sure if I added The Rose Code to my TBR because of all the hype around The Alice Network or not. I know that I don’t want to read The Rose Code until I finally read The Alice Network, which I’m nervous about doing because I’m afraid it won’t live up to the hype.
Book 5: Witches Steeped in Gold by Ciannon Smart
Fantasy books intimidate me for some reason. So why did I add this to my TBR? Because the premise sounds so interesting! Maybe if I can get my hands, I mean ears, on an audiobook, then I may give this a shot. Why an audiobook? Because that format seems to work better for me with fantasy.
Book 6: Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead
I have had Great Circle on my TBR for quite a while now. I have also had a request at my local library for AGES to read this. I am number one in the queue, but it just hasn’t arrived yet! Dang delays!
Book 7: The Siren by Katherine St. John
A movie star is on an island filming with his ex-wife and a couple of other mysterious women when a storm blows in and shuffles everything! It sounds like a great summer read. Can I please get a copy in my hands already?
Book 8: The Woman They Could Not Silence by Kate Moore
If she put as much love and passion into The Woman They Could Not Silence as she did in Radium Girls, how could I not want to read this book by Kate Moore? Plus, I’ve always been intrigued by the battles our ancestors had to fight that were forgotten in the history books.
Book 9: Big Boned by Jo Watson
A book like Big Boned sounds like the book I wish I had when I was growing up. A plus-sized main character who struggles to find her place in a new school, yup, that was me!
Book 10: The Heartbreak Bakery by A.R. Capetta
A food-centric book? Yes, please! This book has been on my TBR since April 2021 and was released in October 2021. I have no excuses for not reading it yet. Other than the fact I haven’t seen it in the store yet!
That is 10 2021 Releases I Hope to Read in 2022. Have you read any of these? What books released in 2021 do you still need to read?

Witches Steeped in Gold in on my list too this week. I’m kinda the opposite with fantasy, I really struggle with it on audio, but love reading it. I loved The Radium Girls so The Woman They Could Not Silence is on my radar too.
You have some great books leftover from last year. I think Between Two Kingdom looks good, too. I’ve also heard good things about Rose Code and Great Circle.
Good list. Two Kingdoms and Great Circle were some I didn’t get to, but did not make it onto my list. I’ve heard good things about them.
Lore has been on several lists this week. I hope you like it whenever you read it!

I’ve never read anything by Quinn. I think that needs to change this year! Her books sound excellent, so I need to get on it and actually read one. I hope you enjoy all these when you get to them!
Happy TTT!

I have heard such good things about The Rose Code. I still haven’t read that one either!
Sounds like a good list; I hope you enjoy them! But now I need to go look up The Heartbreak Bakery, because I’ve discovered that I love books with a food-centric theme, too. π

So many good books to read, and so little time! π
Witches Steeped in Gold is another one I really wanted to get to this past year but didn’t. I hope you do read The Rose Code and enjoy it. I really liked it. I hope you enjoy all of these when you read them!
Lore is also a book I was really excited about and then never picked up, so I hope to change that soon π Hope you’ll enjoy all of these!
Oh, great list! I’ve only scene/heard anything about Lore, but they all sound interesting! I hope you are able to enjoy them soon!
I was kind of disappointed in Lore, so unfortunately I can’t reassure you on that one, but The Rose Code was one of my favourite books of last year!

I read Lore early this year, and it was an interesting read, but I completely understand where the mixed reviews came from now. But I’m glad that I read it. Witches Steeped in Gold is also on my TBR list for this year – the copy on my shelf is calling to me! Happy reading.
I’m excited to read Lore, The Rose Code, and The Siren as well. Hopefully, we’ll both like them when we get to them. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I’ve not heard of these! I hope you really like them! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
I also want to read the Rose Code. I’ve heard such good things about it. The Great Circle sounds good, too. I’m always behind when it comes to read the current best books. We have time!
Witches Steeped in Gold is on my TBR too–I hope we both enjoy it when we get to it!
I’ve heard a lot of really good things about The Rose Code!
I have Lore- I didn’t get to that one either!
I have The Rose Code on my bookshelf. I didn’t get a chance to read it last year either. Hope we both find time this year to get to it!
I loved Lore! It was a fun read. I hope you will enjoy it.
The Rose Code was one of my favourite books last year. Big Boned and The Siren sound good and I will be checking them out. I have The Woman They Could Not Silence on my TBR and really hope to read or listen to it soon. Great List, Pam.
These all sound amazing. Hope you get to read them soon.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Great list! I hope to read Witches Steeped in Gold this year as well although I’m a little nervous about going into it after seeing several very mixed reviews. Capetta’s book looks really good tooβI love food-centric books π I hope you enjoy all these books!
Good luck! I hope you are able to pick some of these up this year.
I’ve seen Witches Steeped in Gold on a lot of lists this week.
We all do that, as we can see this week on everyone’s blog. “Between Two Kingdoms” sounds very interesting.
Thanks for visiting my TTT this week.
I read Black Birds in the Sky by Brandy Colbert last fall. It’s nonfiction about the Tulsa/Greenwood race massacre. It was infuriating! But still important to know that history. I hadn’t heard of Angel of Greenwood.
All of these sound great. I’ve been looking at Lore too, but I also keep hearing mixed reviews.
I hope you enjoy these when you get to them!
I enjoyed both Lore and the Rose Code – hope you do too!
Lore is one I hope to read this year too.
What a great-looking list! I want to read Lore as well. Big Boned is one I hadn’t really heard anyone talk about, but I feel you on wishing I’d had that rep as a kid, so I’ll have to add that to my TBR!
I recently got a copy of Witches Steeped in Gold. I’ve heard some mixed things but I’m still really curious about it.
I feel as though I saw Kate’s on many lists throughout the year. Maybe a sign I should take a closer look there. π Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland on this week! I appreciate it.
