March is over, and it is now April. For me, March was a scene of some serious madness. Between March Madness (NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament) and work, my reading and blogging suffered a little in March. While I did manage seven books, I wasn’t feeling guilty about skipping days by the end of the month. I was reading some heavy books, and it wasn’t quite so easy to find joy in reading. Let’s get into my Reading Wrap Up March 2022!

Reading Wrap Up March 2022

Let me start by saying, I didn’t do so well with my reading challenges in March. I finished the CBC Canada Reads books just in time. But my Read Christie 2022 and Buzzwords challenges didn’t happen. I feel a little guilty about that, but I needed to find some freedom after the other books. I only read four of the six books I listed in my February Wrap-Up.

What Did I Read in March 2022?

  1. When You Look Like Us by Pamela N. Harris
  2. Jameela Green Ruins Everything by Zarqa Nawaz
  3. The Case of the Missing Marquess (Enola Holmes #1) by Nancy Springer
  4. Under Lock & Skeleton Key by Gigi Pandian
  5. Radar Girls by Sara Ackerman
  6. Life in the City of Dirty Water by Clayton Thomas-Muller
  7. What Strange Paradise by Omar El Akkad

A Brief Description of Books I Read in March 2022

When You Look Like Us: A black girl goes missing, and no one wants to help her brother find her. She’s worried something serious is wrong and sets out on his own to find her.

Jameela Green Ruins Everything: Jameela is a writer who wants her book to top the New York Times bestsellers list. She does what anyone would do, get a man accidentally deported and then pretend to join a terror organization to get him back. For a further review, click here.

The Case of the Missing Marquess: Sherlock Holmes’s little sister is trying to find their missing mother and stumbles upon another case, one of the missing marquess.

Under Lock & Skeleton Key: Returning home after a disastrous show, Tempest is present when a body is discovered in a sealed wall. The body is her former stage double, leaving Tempest wondering if the Raj family curse is after her next. For a further review, click here.

Radar Girls: Based on a true story, this looks at the women of the Women’s Air Raid Defense in Hawaii in the aftermath of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Life in the City of Dirty Water: A memoir of healing and self-discovery. For a further review, click here.

What Strange Paradise: Amir is a young refugee boy trying to survive in a foreign place. For a further review, click here.

April 2022 TBR

April looks light for me when it comes to ARCs, as I only have one to read. Well, only one fiction one to read. I do have a cookbook I need to review for April as well. As such, I hope to be able to get my reading challenges done this month. One is Read Christie 2022 from the Official Agatha Christie website, and the other is a Buzzwords Challenge from Kayla over at Books and Lala. A co-worker has also asked me to read a book for my input before he offers it to his adult children.

And that is my Reading Wrap up for March 2022 and a small sample of my April TBR. How was your reading in March? What’s on your April TBR?

  1. I haven’t even gotten started on my March wrap-up yet. It looks like you had a good month, despite the heavy books slowing you down. I liked the Enola Holmes movie on Netflix but haven’t read the book(s?) yet.

I hope your April is even better!

  2. Reading heavy books does change the speed at which we finish them, that’s for sure! I hope that you at least enjoyed the books you read, even if you didn’t finish all the ones you had intended to.

    1. It can also suck the joy out of reading, especially when there are a lot of them back to back.

      1. Good point! I try to not ever have a heave read be the only book I’m working on at any given time, so that I always have something lighter to pick up when I need a break.

  3. March was a crazy month for me as well. Under Lock & Skeleton Key looks good, and I have that on my tbr.
