Happy Foodie Friday! This week I decided to share a list of fun foodie holidays in November. I know November isn’t here yet, but it soon will be. How else will we celebrate these holidays if we don’t know about them ahead of time? And don’t we need time to prepare?

I’ve always been intrigued by the concept of National months and days. Who creates these holidays? Why do they make them? And most of all, how do they celebrate these days? To celebrate a few of these holidays, I will try to compile posts for the month. That way you can celebrate as well.

I compiled this list of holidays from a much more extensive list over at National Day Calendar.

Sorry, I missed the past couple of weeks. My mom was finally able to visit for the first time since Christmas 2019 and for the first time since my dad passed away in the spring. And because of that, I decided to focus more on spending time with her.

National Months in November

November is an exciting month. There are only ten month-long celebrations, and they are a combination of healthy (Pomegranate Month) and comfort (Banana Pudding Lovers Month) foods.

National Foodie Days in November

There are some tasty days in November (see November 6, 10, and 11) and some not-so-tasty days (see November 9 and 24). Why am I including the not-so-tasty ones? Because someone may find those days tasty! You will also notice that I did not include Thanksgiving on the list. Why? Because not every country celebrates Thanksgiving, and those that do don’t celebrate it on the same day.

So that is the complete list of Fun Foodie Holidays in November. Which one will you try to celebrate this month? Are there any you would like me to create a post around?

  1. I have not heard of a Harvey Wallbanger Day in YEARS! I’ve put November 8 on my calendar to celebrate it.

  2. Okay, the “pizza with the works except anchovies day” is making me laugh harder than perhaps it should. 😉 I don’t like anchovies much, but calling it out as an exception to “the works” just feels like cheating!
