Happy Thursday, y’all! For this week’s book tag, I’m taking some of the prompts from the Fall Reading Challenge from PopSugar in 2016. I know that was forever ago, but finding books for reading prompts is still fun. Maybe this can help someone find a book to read for their reading challenge.
A Book Written by a Female Author Featuring a Male Protagonist
I found this prompt a little more complicated than I thought, mainly because I didn’t want to go with the ones most people would expect, especially from me. What would people expect from me? Do the names Harry Potter and Hercule Poirot ring any bells?
So what did I pick? Have you heard of Phaedra Patrick’s The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper? It’s a fun read about a widower learning more about his wife’s life before marriage.
A Book and Its Sequel
I have to admit something: I’ve only read the first book in this series. But it was such fun and great for this time of year. Why haven’t I read the sequel? It isn’t out until February 2022.
Farm to Table Mysteries Series by Amanda Flower is a small-town cozy mystery series.
A Book on All the Bestseller Lists
After checking the New York Times Bestsellers list, I was impressed to see that a book I read this year has been there for over 235 weeks. That’s pretty impressive! Given that, I’m sure a lot of people have read it. I will still put it here because I think it’s a book everyone should read.
A Book Based on a Historical Event
The book I will give for this is a side of World War II that isn’t discussed often. What book is that? It is Sisters in Arms by Kaia Alderson.
A Book With Food in the Title
I am sharing the book I am currently reading, Baking Cakes in Kigali by Gaile Parkin, which doesn’t have many reviews on Goodreads (under 1200), considering it was released in 2010.
A Book With a Pun in the Title
This book could also work for the previous prompt. Isn’t it great to find a book that works for multiple prompts for a challenge? Up to No Gouda by Linda Reilly is a new cozy mystery coming in January 2022, and I can’t wait!
And that is my idea for the Fall Reading Challenge Book Tag! Did I introduce you to any new reads? How would you answer these questions?

Oh man, Up To No Gouda sounds like a book right up my alley! Cozy mystery + punny title + grilled cheese. Yes please! 😀
