Happy Tuesday y’all! January is grinding to an end. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I’m not sure. This week, Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl is asking us to share new authors we found in 2023. Like last year, I debated if I should focus on debut authors or just ones I read for the first time in 2023. While looking through the books I read last year, I discovered many of my favorite reads of 2023 were books by authors I first read in 2023. So you can consider this a part two of my favorite reads of 2023.

  1. Great list! Mandanna was new to me last year and I can’t wait to read more of her books. I also love Travis Baldree and need to read his second book! I’m hoping to try Holton, Lynn Solomon and Manansala this year. I hope you discover some great new authors in 2024!

  2. I didn’t know that Rachel Lynn Solomon and Sangu Mandann have more than 10 books published, I’ve read a couple of them and I want to read more, I’m going to have to check their books 🙂

  3. Most of those authors I haven’t read, but I did read the Mia P. Manasala books. I loved them. I’ll have to try the other authors on your list.

  4. What a wonderful list! It makes me very happy to see Rachel Lyn Solomon on this list, because she’s one of my favorite authors. It looks like you had a really great reading year as far as authors who were new to you, and I hope that 2024 is just as good to you, if not better.

  5. I read Rachel Lynn Solomon last year too, with The Ex Talk, but she didn’t make my list. I hope to read Travis Baldree really soon! It looks like you discovered some really good books and authors last year. I hope you enjoy more books from them!

  6. I also tried Travis Baldree in 2023 and I have read quite a few others from your list in previous years! I particularly love those Benjamin Stevenson books, Alice Osman and Sangu Mandanna.

  7. I have a copy of Arsenic and Adobo and I want to read it soonish. I also want to read Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone, but don’t have a copy of that one yet.

Thanks for commenting at my blog.

    1. I devoured each book when I was able to read them. I may have squealed a few times with just how adorable Nick and Charlie are.

  8. I love the Heartstopper books, and I also loved Legends & Lattes and The Very Secret Society. I definitely mean to read more by those authors. Solomon is on my TBR list but I’m not sure which of hers I’ll read. Arsenic and Adobo looks great.

  9. Loved Weather Girl by Solomon, Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone was great fun, and I enjoyed Isadora too! I hope to read more by all three authors! Wonderful list!

    1. It was in my top 15 books I read in 2023. I’m excited to read the next one in the series.

  10. Great list! I tried Baldree last year, too, and enjoyed him. I just finished EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY HAS KILLED SOMEONE, which I loved. I’m excited for the sequel. Ann Claire’s books are also really fun. I’m glad you discovered so many great new authors last year!

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
