Happy Tuesday y’all! January is grinding to an end. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I’m not sure. This week, Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl is asking us to share new authors we found in 2023. Like last year, I debated if I should focus on debut authors or just ones I read for the first time in 2023. While looking through the books I read last year, I discovered many of my favorite reads of 2023 were books by authors I first read in 2023. So you can consider this a part two of my favorite reads of 2023.
All titles link to Goodreads.

I haven’t read any of these authors. I love how everyone’s lists are so different. Here’s my post for this week: https://portobellobookblog.com/2024/01/30/top-ten-tuesday-30th-january-2024-new-to-me-authors-i-discovered-in-2023-toptentuesday-bookrecommendations-amreading-tuesdaybookblog/
I haven’t read any of these either!
I’ve heard such good things about Travis Baldtree’s work.
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
Great list! Mandanna was new to me last year and I can’t wait to read more of her books. I also love Travis Baldree and need to read his second book! I’m hoping to try Holton, Lynn Solomon and Manansala this year. I hope you discover some great new authors in 2024!
I didn’t know that Rachel Lynn Solomon and Sangu Mandann have more than 10 books published, I’ve read a couple of them and I want to read more, I’m going to have to check their books 🙂
Honestly, I didn’t either until I started putting this list together.
I love Courtney Walsh’s books and I am excited she has a new one coming out soon (The Lucky Charm!).
I also ‘discovered’ Travis Baldree in 2024! I love Alice Oseman, Rachel Lynn Solomon and Sangu Mandanna too.
Most of those authors I haven’t read, but I did read the Mia P. Manasala books. I loved them. I’ll have to try the other authors on your list.
I hope you enjoy them if and when you give them a chance!
Arsenic and Adobo is a fun read! I should read more by her!
What a wonderful list! It makes me very happy to see Rachel Lyn Solomon on this list, because she’s one of my favorite authors. It looks like you had a really great reading year as far as authors who were new to you, and I hope that 2024 is just as good to you, if not better.
I’ve never been one for graphic novels, but I was drawn to the Heartstopper series. I’ve loved each volume.
I read Rachel Lynn Solomon last year too, with The Ex Talk, but she didn’t make my list. I hope to read Travis Baldree really soon! It looks like you discovered some really good books and authors last year. I hope you enjoy more books from them!
