Happy Tuesday, y’all! This week, Jana at That Arsty Reader Girl has handed the reins over to Rebecca from Top100Books. And what has Rebecca picked for this week’s TTT? She’s asking us to share authors we wish were still writing today. These authors could be taking forever to write another book, retired, or passed away. My favorite author, Agatha Christie, passed away almost 50 years ago. But in recent years, her estate has allowed new authors to write books featuring her characters. So, instead, I’ve decided to shre my most read authors of all time.
I went through my Goodreads shelves and sorted my read books by author. Then, I started looking for duplicate names.Then I decided I had to have a minimum number of books by the author that I’ve read, and set that number at five. I did not include graphic novels, manga, or books I read with my kids. That has left me with 18 I could share with you.

And that is the list of my most read authors of all time. A few of these authors I haven’t read in a while, and others I just finished their most recent releases. And there is a variety of genres represented. Who are some of your most read authors of all time?

I have read quite a few books by the person who writes under the name of Colleen Cambridge, but most of them have been her Colleen Gleason books!
Honestly, I didn’t realize is was a pen name until I was writing this post.

Agatha Christie was incredibly prolific.
With over 60 novels published under her name, a handful of romances, and close to a dozen plays, she was definitely prolific.

Hi, Pam! I remember reading Ten Little Indians by Agatha Christie when I was a young mom. It’d be great for more of her stories. I think she’s written a ton.
I actually read that book multiple times before I realized I was reading the same book over and over again, as it had 2 different titles. Now it’s known as And Then There Were None.

She’s one of my favorite authors, and I was honestly surprised to realize how many of her books I’ve actually read.
Nice post! I enjoy Jenny Colgan and Beth O’Leary, but Agatha aside, I don’t think I’ve read the others.
Oooh Rick Riordan brought me back to middle school. I loved The Lightning Thief series!

I’ve loved reading Riordan’s books. I wish my kids enjoyed them as much as I have, but alas that’s not to be.

I think the only things of hers I haven’t read are her novellas.
That’s nice to look at it that way. I see quite a few authors I love to read as well. I know so many just love Agatha Christie but I am not really a bit mystery reader.
I find her books to be brain teasers, more so than many mysteries.

Great list! I haven’t read most of these authors, but a few are on my wish list. I have read many by Jennifer Weiner and I always enjoy her books.
Rick Riordan has SO many books, I can’t keep up!
Thankfully, he’s slowed down in recent years. LOL! Though I am still one behind.
I think mine would be Enid Blyton thanks to her long series and being obsessed with her as a kid!

I finished her Sunshin Vicram series just before writing this post. I enjoy her writing style, and how her main female leads have such snark and sass.
Oh wow. That’s a lot of books.
I guess that my most read authors would be Francine Pascal (probably at least 60?) and Cassandra Clare (in the 20s for her).
This is a fun topic for a list! I might have to steal it next time we have a freebie. Even though I’ve only read a handful of Christie’s books, I included her on my list this week because I would be really interested to see how she handles modern mystery tropes and issues.

What a fun topic! I loved seeing your list and the backlog of books for each author. 30+ books is wild 🤣 I still haven’t read any Agatha Christie (although she’s on my TBR) but I don’t reckon I’ve got any other author on my read/TBR with such an extensive catalogue. I think my most read author is probably V.E. Schwab!
The three books I would recommend you start with by Christie are And Then There Were None, Murder on the Orient Express, and the Murder of Roger Ackroyd. The first is a standalone, and has been the inspiration for many thrillers in recent years. The second two feature Hercule Poirot, her most famous character.
This is an excellent idea for a list for Top Ten. You should suggest it! My mouth dropped open when I saw how many Rick Riordan books and how many Agatha Christie books you have read.

I love Beth O’Leary’s books, she’s definitely up there as one of my favourite authors!
I have her newest on hold at the library, fingers crossed to get to read it before the year is over.
