Happy Tuesday, y’all! This week, Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl is asking us to share the recent additions to our shelves. As it’s the end of 2025, it feels like a great time for reflecting on the year. So instead, this week I’m going to share some of my anticipated 2025 releases that I still haven’t read.

Anticipated 2025 Canadian Releases I Still Haven't Read

I did get one gift I have to share. It brought me to tears when I registered what it was. My husband handed me the box to unwrap and said it was a pen.

For those who are unsure what it is, it is a replica of Percy’s sword, Riptide. On the hilt is the sword’s name in Greek.

For those who are curious about where my husband found it: Heritage Crafts CA

Twice a year, we share a list of anticipated releases. And of course, there are always other ones that pop up over the course of the year. You can find my early 2025 releases here, and my late 2025 releases here. All titles are linked to Goodreads.

    1. Doesn’t it? Now I need to figure out what to do with it. My oldest and her girlfriend made a hanger so I can display it on the wall.

  1. Let‘s hope you‘ll get to them next year! Looking at my own list of anticipated new reads in 2026, it‘s probably looking tricky! 😝

    1. I’m hoping to read my first Hannah Bonam-Young in 2026 as well. I finally have one of her books on my shelf, so there’s no excuse.

      1. Will it be Out of the Woods then? I added Next of Kin to my TBR; if I have no strong preferences, I like going in release order.
Hope you enjoy yours! I have heard very good things about it.

    1. He said one of the reasons he got it for me is because he knew I’d never buy it myself. I’d look at it, say it’s cool and then move on.

  2. What a great gift from your husband. Very thoughtful! I am adding Future Boy to my TBR list. I read another of his memoirs and really enjoyed it.

  3. I hope you enjoy these all! It’s always so fun to spotlight all the books we liked, but all the ones we’re anticipating, too! YAY for fun Christmas gifts; I’m so glad you received something new to enjoy in your bookish collection. 🙂 Thanks for visiting my list today.

  4. You look like a reader after my own heart. I loved Detective Aunty. In fact I intend rereading by listening to it at some point. I think I have another Christmas one by her that I hope to get to read soon.

    1. She had a surprise release earlier in December called Yours for the Season. I found it while trolling Netgalley one day. It’s a quick read, and pretty enjoyable.

  5. What an awesome gift, Pam. I have joined The Great Canadian Reading Challenge 2026, so will keep this list handy for new authors I haven’t read yet. Happy New Year, Pam!

    1. I have a list of anticipated Canadian releases coming in a couple of weeks. I’m sure you’ll find something there that you will enjoy.

  6. I find it so interesting that there’s Into the Woods… then Out of the Woods… and they’re both by different authors! I haven’t read these. Future Boy sounds interesting. I always loved the Back to the Future series.

  7. That is a fabulous gift!

I love that your first two books are “Into the Woods” and “Out of the Woods” (though, being a fan of the musical Into the Woods, I then immediately started singing… 😉 )
