Happy Tuesday y’all! How is your fall going so far? In my part of the world, the temperatures have dropped drastically. It felt like once fall was here, the temperature dropped 20 degrees! This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic isn’t from Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl. That’s right, this week’s topic is from Mareli at Elza Reads. This week we are looking for typographic book covers, ones with fantastic fonts and are primarily words. That wasn’t something I really felt like doing. Sorry! Instead, I twisted it to ten book titles starting with the letter A.
Ten book titles starting with the letter A! You would think this would be an easy challenge, right? Of course, I had to make it a bit more difficult on myself! I am not including any books that are part of a series or that start with A and An. Another way I made this a bit harder on myself is by only listing books I’ve read and enjoyed!
All titles will lead to Goodreads.
Now, let’s look at my list of ten book titles starting with the letter A.

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

- Release Date: November 1939
First, there were ten—a curious assortment of strangers summoned as weekend guests to a little private island off the coast of Devon. Their host, an eccentric millionaire unknown to all of them, is nowhere to be found. All that the guests have in common is a wicked past they’re unwilling to reveal—and a secret that will seal their fate. For each has been marked for murder. A famous nursery rhyme is framed and hung in every room of the mansion:
“Ten little boys went out to dine; One choked his little self, and then there were nine. Nine little boys sat up very late; One overslept himself, and then there were eight. Eight little boys traveling in Devon; One said he’d stay there, and then there were seven. Seven little boys chopping up sticks; One chopped himself in half, and then there were six. Six little boys playing with a hive; A bumblebee stung one, and then there were five. Five little boys going in for law; One got in Chancery, and then there were four. Four little boys going out to sea; A red herring swallowed one, and then there were three. Three little boys walking in the zoo; A big bear hugged one, and then there were two. Two little boys sitting in the sun; One got frizzled up, and then there was one. One little boy left all alone; He went out and hanged himself, and then there were none.”
When they realize that murders are occurring as described in the rhyme, terror mounts. One by one, they fall prey. Before the weekend is out, there will be none. Who has choreographed this dastardly scheme? And who will be left to tell the tale? Only the dead are above suspicion.

- Release Date: June 2022
Emerging journalist Adina Gellar is done with dating in New York City. If she’s learned anything from made-for-TV romance movies, it’s that she’ll find love in a small town – the kind with harvest festivals, delightful but quirky characters, and scores of delectable single dudes. So when a big-city real estate magnate targets tiny Pleasant Hollow for development, Adi knows she’s found the perfect story – one that will earn her a position at a coveted online magazine, so she can finally start adulting for real and maybe even find her dream man in the process.
Only Pleasant Hollow isn’t exactly “pleasant.” There’s no charming bakery, no quaint seasonal festivals, and the residents are more ambivalent than welcoming. The only upside is Finn Adams, who’s more mouthwatering than the homemade cherry pie Adi can’t seem to find – even if he does work for the company she’d hoped to bring down. Suddenly Adi has to wonder if maybe TV got it all wrong after all. But will following her heart mean losing her chance to break into the big time?

Have a great week 🙂
Hi Pam! I’ve read a couple of these. You could also add A is for Alibi! That one is on my list as well.
Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Great twist this week.
I lived the importance of being at the front of the alphabet until I messed things up by marrying a fellow in the middle. I’ve always wished I’d named my blog something that starts with an A.
I remember Anne Frank and Animal Farm being required reading when I was in high school.
Although you put your own twist on it this week a lot of these covers have striking text on them!
I struggled with today’s topic also. I love your A’s! What a fun twist.
Neat twist on the topic! I’ve only read a couple of these, but it sounds like you have some great picks.

I like this idea! I’ve read just two of these books – And Then There Were None and Animal Farm. I have two titles on my list that begin with an ‘A’ – After You’d Gone by Maggie O’Farrell and Amo, Amas, Amat … And All That by Harry Mount.
Lovely idea! As Seen on TV is on my TBR, it looks cute.
As You Wish! I should read that!! And love the Christie cover.
A great list. I want to read As Seen On TV. I enjoyed And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. I read that last year 🤔
Have a great week

Nice twist!
Great list! That Airman cover is very eye-catching.
I like your twist on this week’s theme and especially your inclusion of And Then There Were None! 🙂
Your twist is definitely fun (and an idea I might just borrow!), but also, in spite of yourself, you have some fabulous typography covers! And you didn’t even try. That’s the best kind of dual list…..Thanks for the visit to my list….
Terrie @ Bookshelf Journeys
Nice! It would be hard to find “A” titles with those conditions. You did a great job!
Happy TTT!

I love the cover for ABSOLUTE BRIGHTNESS! I hadn’t seen that one before.
This is such a fun twist on this week’s topic, and you came up with a great list!
I love how the colours pop on Absolute Brightness
Wow, I definitely would have found it tricky to find a lot of “A” titles with your conditions! A fun challenge though, I may try it one day.

I watched the And Then There were None adaptation but haven’t read a single Agatha Christie novel. I also recently added As Seen on TV to my bookshelf; hoping its fun. 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting my website this week.
Great list! That Agatha book has a great cover!
Great twist on the topic this week! And you can have at least 25 other posts with a similar twist. The gift that keeps on giving!
As Seen on TV sounds like fun – I am putting it on reserve at the library.
Great topic choice! I haven’t read any of these but I like the sound of As Seen on TV 🙂
