Hey, y’all! Have you gotten your shopping done yet? Have you thought about stocking stuffers? Or am I the only one who focuses so much on the gifts to put under the tree and forgets all about the stocking? As a bookworm, I love finding bookish goodies in my stocking. Many of these stocking stuffers for bookworms can be found in dollar stores and department stores (like Walmart and Target). But you can also visit your local bookstore and see these ideas and more.
Bookmarks
Yes, most bookworms will say they have enough bookmarks, but bookmarks are always needed. Bookmarks are also easy to personalize to the reader. You can find bookmarks for specific books, series, and even TV shows. Some have food on them. Others may have scenic images. You can find traditional-style bookmarks and magnetic ones. You may find the bookmark made of assorted materials like yarn, metal, and leather depending on where you buy it.
Small Art Prints
These may be more difficult to find, but they are out there. The best places to look in person are craft shows. Online, you can check out sites like Etsy and Redbubble. You can find generic prints or even ones from specific books and series. You can find them in postcard size up to poster size.
Stickers
You can find bookish stickers everywhere! The selection in stores may be lacking, but they are there. In the past, I’ve received stickers from a manga I enjoy reading. Check out craft shows, Etsy, and Redbubble to ensure you get something special.
Pens, Pencils, Highlighters
Does your bookworm enjoy annotating books? Then pens, pencils, and highlighters might be the gift for them. You can find these items in any store, and they can be grabbed at the last minute. But there’s also lots of room for choice: ink types, color, pencil type, and size. With pencils, you can find them with funny toppers or personalize them with the bookworm’s name.
Tea, Hot Cocoa, Coffee
Does your bookworm enjoy a warm drink while reading? You can find tea, hot cocoa, and coffee in their favorite flavors. You can get them K-cups, Nespresso pods, or even old-school individually wrapped tea bags and hot cocoa pouches.
Socks
I love getting fun socks! Sometimes, they’re under the tree, and other times, they’re in my stocking. You will typically find generic bookworm socks, but occasionally, you’ll find some from a specific series.
Book Light
Does your bookworm like to stay up late reading in bed while you’re trying to sleep? Do they travel a lot, and read to pass the time? Do they prefer physical books to ebooks? Then a clip on book light is the perfect gift for them. Book lights are typically compact, and don’t put out a lot of light.
A Book Charm
This is probably the most difficult item on the list to find. But they do exist! You may find these charms in jewelry stores, but your more likely to find them online at places like Etsy. They can be a charm attached to a bracelet or even a special pendant.
TBR Cards
This is a stocking stuffer that you can make. What are TBR Cards? They are typically a small deck of cards that readers will use to select their next read. The cards can have specific prompts, by using a book title or author. Or they can be a bit more vague, listing a color, a word that needs to be in a title, or ever over or under a set page count. You can find ideas on Pinterest.
Gift Cards
I know that gift cards are considered impersonal, and some people don’t like them. To me, a gift card for the book store is a great idea. Why? Because not everyone knows my taste in books or if I already own a copy. Yes, I do put a few titles on my Christmas wishlist, but that doesn’t mean I expect people to stick to that list. Gift cards can also work if you know your bookworm belongs to a subscription service such as Kindle or Audible.
That’s ten stocking stuffers for bookworms. Are there any here that you’re hoping to find in your stocking this year? What are some of your favorite stocking stuffers for bookworms?
