January is here! Can y’all believe that 2021 is over? I had some highs and lows throughout the year, but I’ll share more of that in another post. Today’s post is all about my December reading. Honestly, I was surprised when I looked back over the books I read in December. I had no idea that I managed to read so many books; I even DNF 3. So let’s take a look at my Reading Wrap Up December 2021!

Reading Wrap Up December 2021: Gift of Reading

Reading Wrap Up December 2021

Looking at the books I said I would read in December in my November wrap-up, I read three of the four. The fourth one was a DNF. In total, I read 12 books and DNF three. Of those 12 books read, there were two audiobooks. I also read an ARC for a cozy mystery coming out at the end of January. There were also six holiday-themed books in the collection.

For more information about each book, the titles will take you to Goodreads, and the images will take you to Amazon.

Brief Description of Books I Read in December 2021

Cheddar Off Dead: Santa is murdered a few days before Christmas outside an elementary school, and a caterer witnesses the crime.

Hercule Poirot’s Christmas: A family gathered together for Christmas for the first time in many years. The family patriarch is murdered, and Poirot participates in the investigation.

The Further Adventures of Ebenezer Scrooge: What happens after the end of The Christmas Carol?

Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe: A gender-bent retelling of Pride and Prejudice set during the holiday season.

Deck the Hounds: Starting around Thanksgiving and wrapping up after the first of the year, a homeless man is accused of robbery and murder. Can Andy Carpenter keep him out of jail?

Mr. Dickens and His Carol: A fictional tale about the creation of The Christmas Carol.

A Lady’s Formula for Love: A Victorian-era romance featuring a group of women in the STEM field. And one of them is the target of violent attacks. Will she survive to find the solution to stop the riots?

Love in Color: A collection of short stories that retell love stories from various mythologies.

Witch Please: A romance with a witch with technical powers. Can she keep her powers in check to stay off a hunter’s radar?

The Reading List: A list of books keeps drawing people together and giving them just what they need when they need it. But who wrote the list and why?

Up to No Gouda: The town bully is found murdered behind the building he just bought, and the top suspect is the owner of the grilled cheese restaurant. If she didn’t do it, who did?

Cat in the Limelight: A college dean is murdered at a fundraiser for the school. The venue is full of witnesses, but who’s the murderer?

January 2022 TBR

In January, I have two ARCs to read. Then I will also be starting on two different reading challenges. One is Read Christie 2022 from the Official Agatha Christie website, and the other is a Buzzwords Challenge from Kayla over at Books and Lala. I do not want to plan too many reads at the moment because I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to read at work.

That is my Reading wrap up for December 2021 and a small sample of my January TBR. How was your reading in December? What’s on your January TBR?

  1. I read The Reading List in December also! I mostly loved it but but I couldn’t make sense of the random character chapters! So distracting!

  2. Ooh I like the look of that Christie. And Hercule Poirot’s looks perfect for this time of year. 🙂

  3. You sure had a great month of reading, Pam. I read Up to No Gouda and Witch Please and enjoyed them both.

  4. That sounds like a great month of reading! I keep forgetting that Agatha Christie wrote a Christmas story for Poirot. I’ll have to read that one of these Decembers! And Mr. Dickens and His Carol has been on my TBR for a while now. I need to get to that one, too!
