April 2022 is over, and boy am I glad! Why? Because I started the month with some exhaustion and quickly followed that up with COVID-19. Sadly, it got all four members of my household. But being a mom, I still had to worry about food and make sure everyone was drinking lots of water and such while they got to lounge around watching YouTube and sleeping. My reading for April wasn’t that great. So, let’s get to what we’re all here for, my reading wrap up April 2022 edition!
Reading Wrap Up April 2022
This month, I managed to get my reading challenges done, though not necessarily with the books I had planned to use. I completed three of the five books I mentioned in my March wrap-up for reading in April and had two DNF. Of course, one of those three was a cookbook that I read multiple times. I mean, how can you read a cookbook only once?

A Brief Description of Books Read in April 2022
Good Girl Complex: This new adult romance introduces readers to the world of Avalon Bay, a beachfront university town in the southern United States. This book focuses on Mackenzie Cabot, a people pleaser from a wealthy family, and Copper Hartley, who has had to fight for what he wants his whole life. Will such a relationship work? For a full review, click here.
Yours Cheerfully: The second installment in the Emmy Lake Chronicles continues to follow Emmy Lake during the Second World War while working in London at a women’s magazine. I listened to the audiobook for both books and think it’s a great way to immerse yourself in the story. The narrator is Anna Popplewell, Susan from The Chronicles of Narnia movies.
Out of His League: Readers are introduced to Gretchen Harper as she first meets Joshua Malvern at the Toronto airport. A cup of coffee is bought, and a wild weekend in Las Vegas ensues. For a full review, click here.
The Brownie Diaries: With around 50 different brownie recipes, you are bound to find one (or more) that you and your family will love. For a full review, click here.
Meet Me in the Margins: This is a workplace romance set in Nashville. By day, Savannah Cade is an assistant acquisition editor at a small publishing company. By night, Savannah Cade is a budding romance author. William Pennington is the CEO’s son and the newest member of the publishing team at Pennington Publishing. For a full review, click here.
The Big Four: A classic game of cat and mouse, with more of a spy thriller than a mystery. More akin to James Bond but written roughly 30 years earlier.
May 2022 TBR
May looks light for me when it comes to ARCs, as I only have one to “read” and review. I say it like that because it’s a cookbook. As such, I hope to be able to get my reading challenges done this month. One is Read Christie 2022 from the Official Agatha Christie website, and the other is a Buzzwords Challenge from Kayla over at Books and Lala. I hope to get some of my summer ARCs read, as I currently have 13 to read from June to the end of August. Other than that, here’s hoping I get to read a few more books from my shelves.
- Beef It Up! by Jessica Formicola (ARC)
- The Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie (Read Christie Challenge)
- Rose Under Fire by Elizabeth Wein (Buzzwords Challenge)
- As Seen on TV by Meredith Schorr (ARC)
And that is my Reading Wrap up for April 2022 and a small sample of my May TBR. How was your reading in April? What’s on your May TBR?

You did have a great month of reading in April. I loved Meet Me in the Margins.
It is a pretty good book.
Oh no, I’m sorry to hear everyone got Covid! May is also light for me in terms of ARCs – I also only have one to read and review (if we’re not counting the one that I recently finished that publishes in early May that is). Manifesting a productive reading month for you – good luck on reading your summer ARCs! There are so many amazing books coming out around that time.
Thank you Sophia! I hope that your May is a good month as well.
Sorry to hear about the COVID. I hope everyone has recovered fully at this point! And it looks like you found some great books in April, even if you didn’t read as many of them as you’d hoped.
Thank you, we are all feeling better. It’s just taking a while to shake the cough and get the strength back.
That fits in with what I’ve heard from others who have gotten it. Thinking healing thoughts for you!
