Happy April, y’all! How has the first three months of 2025 already gone by? March wasn’t too bad for me. I wish Mother Nature would figure out what she wants. One day it was almost summer, the next it was more like winter. Ugh! We joked that if we didn’t like the weather, we would have to wait an hour or so, and it was bound to change. But enough of that, let’s get to why we’re all here- my March 2025 wrap-up and April plans.

I’m pleased to say I read my entire TBR for the month—of course, I only had one book to read. LOL! I also managed to knock off a couple of books from my Winter TBR. Sadly, a couple were DNF, but life moves on.

My favorite read for March? That’s hard to say, as I had three and rated them at 4.5 stars. How do I pick just one? What three did I rate so highly? The Queens of Crime, And So I Roar, and Finding Flora. The Siren and If You’ll Have Me were solid 4-star reads.

I did have a few DNFs in March, too. Rivers of London is more like it’s me, not the book, as I’ve heard great things about it, but I couldn’t connect. As for Kitchens of the Great Midwest, it was not as advertised! While the stories have one character in common, it’s a short story collection and is not advertised as such. Why? Are you afraid no one would read it? Superspy Science just wasn’t what I thought it would be either. Maybe I should try it again sometime in the future, I didn’t only read the first chapter, which was full of stuff I already knew most of.

April 2025 TBR

I have a few ARCs to read this month. Interestingly, they are primarily mysteries.

March Blog Wrap-Up & April Plans

In March, I wrote and published 15 posts. I stumbled a bit with my goals and planning for posts. There were weekly reviews, and the same with Top Ten Tuesday posts. Sadly, I didn’t write any creative posts and struggled to come up with one food post. Of the 15 posts, my Spring 2025 TBR was the most popular. It was also the most popular post overall for the month. The second most popular post was my review of the app Too Good To Go.

My April plans are pretty similar to my March plans. There will be four reviews and five Top Ten Tuesday posts. On top of that, there’ll be a quarterly check-in. I’m hoping to manage a creative post and a food post. Honestly, I’m hoping for a couple more posts. Any ideas? Please share!

Personal Stuff

While I slayed in February with the push-up challenge I participated in, I managed to irritate my wrist, which lingered most of March. I would love to use that as an excuse for my laziness and lack of doing things. But that would be a bit of a lie. The truth? My brain has hit a brick wall, and decided that it doesn’t want to do anything or allow me to find joy in some things like I used to. As the end of March approached, even reading was a struggle.

I’m trying to take it easy on myself and find the joy in little things. I even started setting small tasks, so I feel like something was accomplished. While they aren’t huge things, if I can clear up a small pile of stuff daily, things will eventually be cleared up. Now, if only things would stay cleared.

I hope to do some things in April: going to a book fair called Pages and Pleasures, rehabing a broken dresser, and going to book club at least once. Who knows, maybe I’ll manage to go to a drop-in fitness class at one of the recreation centers in my city.

That’s my March in a nutshell. How was your March? What was your favorite read? What are your plans for April?
