Happy April y’all! The best way to describe my March was pure chaos, and I’m glad it’s over. I’m also hoping April settles down. So let’s see my March 2023 wrap-up and my plans for April.
Reading Wrap-Up for March 2023 & April 2023 TBR
Let’s flashback to my February 2023 Wrap-Up for a reminder of what I wanted to read in March.
- The Agathas by Kathleen Glasgow and Liz Lawson
- VenCo by Cherie Dimaline
- Gigi, Listening/Two for the Road by Chantel Guertin (ARC)
- Secrets from the Vinyl Cafe by Stuart McLean (Buzzwordathon)
I finished three of the four books I wanted to read. The only one I didn’t get to is Secrets from the Vinyl Cafe. But I am still planning to read it this year.
Books Read in March 2023
The Agathas by Kate Glasgow and Liz Lawson | You Have a Match by Emma Lord
VenCo by Cherie Dimaline (review) | The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton
Gigi, Listening by Chantel Guertin (review) | Happily Ever Afters by Elise Bryant
Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands by Kate Beaton
Of the books I read in March, VenCo was my favorite, closely followed by Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands.
April 2023 TBR
My TBR for April isn’t as crazy as some months, I promise! I have two ARCs and one challenge book, for a total of three books. The challenge I’m doing this year is Buzzwordathon from Kayla at Books and Lala. See, I told you it wasn’t that crazy! I’ll add in a book I started in March and should be finishing shortly.
- 500 Miles from You by Jenny Colgan
- The Coronation Year by Jennifer Robson (ARC)
- Mastering the Art of French Murder by Colleen Cambridge (ARC)
- The Little Bookshop of Lonely Hearts by Annie Darling (Buzzwordathon)
Blogging Wrap-Up & Plans
In March 2023, I published nine posts. While not a lot, nor near what I had planned, I’m still happy with what I did post. Of the nine posts, there were two reviews, four Top Ten Tuesday posts, and one wrap-up. My most popular post of March 2023 was my Spring 2023 TBR.
In April 2023, I have a few posts planned. There will be two reviews, four Top Ten Tuesday posts, and a TBR Shelf Clean-Up. I am hoping to get a few Foodie Friday posts up as well. Do you have any suggestions?
Personal Wrap-Up & Plans
I started a new schedule at work at the beginning of March. Instead of crawling into bed as the sun was rising, I’m heading to work before sunrise. The most significant impact of this has been the lack of time to read at work. It’s either too busy or too many distractions. So I am still struggling to find time to read.
Another issue that appeared this month is a knee injury. I know it’s not a huge deal, but it still sucks. In the past three weeks, I’ve learned I have arthritis in both knees (which I’ve known about for a few years now), a torn meniscus, and an MCL strain. All of that combined makes for pain and instability, not great for walking. I start physiotherapy next week in hopes of helping ease the discomfort.
That is my March 2023 wrap-up and April 2023 plans. How was your March? Did you read any good books? What are your plans for April?

Coronation Year is one I’m so looking forward to! I loved The Gown.
I hope the physiotherapy helps your knee! Joint pain is no fun.
You’ll get your reading schedule sorted out soon. I have been in your shoes with that drastic work schedule change.
I’m currently in PT for my knees as well, but we have no idea what’s actually going on with them. The x-rays didn’t really show anything significant that should be causing me pain. My doctor had to draw fluid off the left knee. He sent it for testing but that all came back negative. We’re hoping strengthening and stretching everything around them will help but I’d like really like to know what caused that swelling and fluid.
I remember looking at Ducks but I wasn’t sure if it was something I would like. I’ll have to look at it again now that I’ve seen a favorable review.
Good luck with your April plans!
Thanks Jen! I hope you get your knee pain figured out soon. If you read Ducks, you may want to check out the content & trigger warnings.
