Happy April, y’all! We are a quarter of the way through 2025. I swear, time keeps marching by without me realizing it! Earlier this year, I shared some goals for 2025 (here), and I thought I would take some time and do a brief 1st quarter check-in. This is also a great time to adjust some goals if needed. So let’s get to my Goals for 2025 1st Quarter Check-In.

Goodreads Goal: 52
By the end of March, I have read almost half of my goal. Whoops! I’ve read 24 books in 3 months. But I won’t adjust the number, I don’t want to stress myself. Besides, who knows what the rest of the year will bring?
Read 26 Owned Books
Out of the 24 books I’ve read, I removed five from my physical TBR list. Two of the five were DNF, but they are still off my shelf.
Write 1 Review a Week
I’ve written a review every week. I’ve reviewed a mix of ARCs and backlist books. No, I haven’t written reviews for all 24 books I’ve read this year, but I have shared 13 reviews on my blog. All 24 books have had some kind of review on my Goodreads page.
Write 2-3 Food Posts a Month
I started 2025 off well and published two food posts in January. In February and March, sadly, I barely managed to publish one. That’s a total of four posts for the 1st quarter. I hope to be better about it in the coming months.
Write 1-2 Creative Posts a Month
I published one creative post in January as part of a Top Ten Tuesday post. Other than that post, I’ve published three creative posts. One was announcing my plans for the 100 Day Project, which officially started February 23. Sadly, that lasted only a week for me. I had planned to work on some hand lettering, but could not do much due to issues with my wrist. I hope to do more creative projects that aren’t impacted by my wrist issues.
Write 1-2 Book Tags a Month
Book tags are fun posts to write. However, they tend to feel a bit repetitive after a while. So far in 2025, I have managed to publish five. I’m ok with the progress on that. I may aim more for one a month than two to help reduce the repetition.
Write 1-2 Book Posts a Month
This is something that I completely forgot about wanting to do. The only book posts I’ve published outside of my Top Ten Tuesday posts are my monthly wrap-ups and Goodreads TBR shelf clean-ups. That doesn’t mean I won’t want to try writing more of these, though.
Use Instagram to Promote Blog
I have been using Instagram a bit more in 2025. I’ve shared my favorite reads of the month, reviews, and occasionally my reading situation. Early in March, I posted a picture of the summery book I was reading with a snowy backdrop. I’ve also shared a few photos of where I was working on my blog. If you have any other ideas, let me know! You can find me at readbakecreate.
Update Old Posts
I have rewritten or updated a couple of old posts. Truth? I haven’t looked at too many of my older posts to see which ones need to be updated.
Update Blog Graphics
While I’ve gotten into a rhythm when creating graphics for my posts. I’m trying to make them similar to each other, yet original, so they don’t get lost in the world of images. But I would still like to update my main blog graphics.
I’m happy with how my goals for 2025 are progressing. How are your goals for 2025 progressing? Are there any you’ve had to change? Do you have any you’re struggling with?

Good job! 🙌🎉 Hot tip: Here’s how I handle updating….I do a #throwbackthursday review post every week and update the old post ….so I create a new post and update the old win-win. It keeps me on track and accountable for updating! I just published one so you can see how easy it is!
