Happy January, y’all! Can you believe that 2025 is here? How was your holiday season? Am I the only one that feels like the year flew by? I’m unsure what my January will bring, but I’m sure it will be bonkers. Let’s look at my December 2024 wrap-up and my plans for January!
December Reading Wrap-Up and January TBR
I didn’t include a TBR in my November Wrap-Up because I had a post with just a December TBR. You can find that TBR here. I won’t share the list in this post because it would be clunky. Just know that all ten books on the list were Christmas-related.
Books Read in December 2024
The Forgotten First by Keyshawn Johnson & Bob Glauber
A Second Chance Road Trip for Christmas by Jackie Lau
Everyone on This Train Is a Suspect by Benjamin Stevenson
Review: Football history that needs to be told.
Review: Second chance romance with forced proximity.
Review: Closed door mystery.
Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Raybourn
Christmas at the Vinyl Cafe by Stuart McLean
A Fake Girlfriend for Chinese New Year by Jackie Lau
Review: Older protagonists kicking butt and taking names.
Review: This short story collection is set around Christmas.
Review: A small-town fake dating romance.
We Solve Murders by Richard Osman
Christmas by the Book by Anne Marie Ryan
Alaskan Holiday by Debbie Macomber
Review: A series of unconnected murders, or are they?
Review: A story filled with love and hope.
Review: Making changes for those we love.
A Heart for Christmas by Sophie Jomain
A Princess for Christmas by Jenny Holiday
The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman
Review: An advent calendar YA romance.
Review: A Hallmark-esque holiday romance.
Review: Someone from Elizabeth’s past reappears.
From my Christmas TBR, I read four out of ten. I read more books in December than I thought I would. Of course, it helps that the majority of them are audiobooks. There were several great reads, but I’d have to say that Killers of a Certain Age is my favorite of the month. There’s something about a book with older protagonists that kick butt and take names that make for great reading.
January TBR
I have three ARCs to read in January.
- Holmes Is Missing by James Patterson and Brian Sitts
- She Doesn’t Have a Clue by Jenny Elder Moke
- Eleanor and the Cold War by Ellen Yardley
December Blog Wrap-Up & January Plans
I did it! For the first time, I completed a Blogmas, publishing 24 posts. Most posts were written ahead of time, making things a lot easier. Sharing the posts on social media was a struggle, but overall, I enjoyed the time away from blogging. I’m not sure if I’ll do it again next year. We shall have to see. My most popular post from December 2024 is 2025 New Releases I’ll Be Reading: Jan-Jun. It was the most popular post overall, as well.
What does January have in store for the blog? There will be four Top Ten Tuesday posts and at least three reviews. In 2025, I hope to work on more food and crafty posts.
Personal Stuff
The holidays were the focus of the month. Work was also topsy-turvy, and I’m seriously hoping that changes in January. But I’m not sure it will. Ugh! On top of that, there’s a pile of appointments for our youngest. Fingers crossed, we can start getting answers soon. And then the end of January is her 17th birthday.
That’s my December in a nutshell. How was your December 2024? What was your favorite read for the month? What are your plans for January?
