Happy Tuesday! This week, for TTT, sponsored by That Artsy Reader Girl, the theme is book titles that are questions. I decided to twist that a bit and focus on cookbooks. I think it’s excellent when cookbook titles ask a question and then help you answer them. Let’s get to these 8 Cookbook Titles That Ask a Question.

8 Cookbook Titles That Ask a Question

Book 1: Will It Waffle? by Daniel Shumski

I love having a waffle iron. And even better is finding other ways to use it than just making waffles for breakfast. Did you know you could use your waffle iron to make pizza, burgers, filet mignon, and chocolate chip cookies? I never thought of it. Each of the 53 recipes in the book comes with a picture (which makes it even better).

Book 2: Will It Skillet? by Daniel Shumski

Do you see a theme here? This cookbook has 53 recipes to make in a cast-iron skillet. Recipes in the book include mac and cheese, carnitas, lasagna, and a giant chocolate chip cookie.

Book 3: What Can I Cook In My…. from Taste of Home

This book helps to answer the question of what to make in assorted kitchen appliances and tools. Appliances and tools include an Instant Pot, Air Fryer, Slow Cooker, Blender, and Sheet Pan. Each chapter includes tips for using and cleaning the tools. Recipes included are Peach Salsa from an Instant Pot, Pepper Poppers from an Air Fryer, Hawaiian Kielbasa Sandwiches from a Slow Cooker, Cheddar Pear Soup from a Blender, and Hoisin Sriracha Sheet-Pan Chicken.

This book is spiral bound, which helps it lay flat. And there are lots of colorful pictures.

Book 4: How d’ya like them Apples by Madge Baird

This title makes me laugh! But in all seriousness, each recipe in this book features apples. Recipes in the book include Snappy Apple Salad, Red Lentil Soup with Sweet Potato and Apple, Dressed-Up Pork Medallions, Overnight Breakfast Casserole, and Apple ‘n’ Cheese Drop Biscuits.

Book 5: Barefoot Contessa: How Easy is That? by Ina Garten

This book contains easy tips and recipes that help elevate dinner. In proper Barefoot Contessa form, these recipes don’t involve a lot of steps or strange ingredients. Garten also shares her favorite tips to make cooking and entertaining easier.

Book 6: You Wanna Piece of Me? by Jenell Parsons

Do you love pie? Then this book may be the one for you. There are more than 100 recipes for sweet and savory pies. Recipes in the book include Chicken Carbonara Pie, Mac & Cheese Pie, Apple Brown Butter Rosemary Pie, Blackberry Peach Pie, Fat Elvis Pie, Earl Grey Cream Pie, Maple French Toast Bacon Pie, and Pie Poutine Sundae with Pie Fries. Parsons also included several crust options.

Book 7: What Can I Bring? by Elizabeth Heiskell

This book is full of Southern recipes for any occasion. The chapters are based on the occasions when a dish may be needed, but any dish could work for any occasion. Recipes in the book include Mint Julep Fruit Salad, Lemon Rice, Roasted Vegetable Pasta Salad, Shrimp and corn Dip, Tomato Jam, Shrimp Creole, Bacon Jam, Chicken and Dumplings, and Honey Balsamic-Blueberry Pie.

Book 8: What Can I Bring? by Anne Byrn

Many people know Anne Byrn as The Cake Mix Doctor. The 200+ recipes in this book offer the same kind of simplicity. There are many tips for transporting your food to the party, and sample menus are provided depending on the event. Recipes in the book include Twelve-Layer Taco Dip, Baby Blue Salad with Sweet and Spicy Pecans, Parmesan Chicken Rolls, Fresh Tomato Pie, Orange Marmalade Cake, Chocolate Chip Brownies with Cream Cheese “Goo,” Cranberry Tart, and Sour Cream Cinnamon Streusel Loaves.

The biggest issue with the book is the lack of photos.

Cookbooks are one of the few books I can read, cover to cover, in one sitting. And if there are pretty pictures and grabbing commentary, even better! These eight cookbooks are great reads and also have titles that ask (and answer) a question.

    1. The writing in You Wanna Piece of Me? is the best. She is full of such sass, it’s great!

  3. I love this list. I absolutely need What Can I Skillet? I just bought one and am dying to use it.

  4. I loved this twist! I find that a lot of cookbooks are pretty hit or miss, but I’ll definitely be checking some of these out!

  5. I love your twist on this week’s topic! Cookbooks have some of the most creative titles, but I don’t usually think about them when making lists like this.

Thanks for visiting my TTT earlier!

  6. FUN post! I don’t think I’ve heard of any of these, but it’s always exciting to find a new recipe to try. Most of my come from recipe websites I follow on Instagram. πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland last week.
