Happy Thursday, y’all! We’re about halfway through the month; can you believe it? Christmas will be here in just under two weeks! For this week’s book tag, I’m doing one I’ve seen in a few places, including over at That Artsy Reader Girl. The theme for this week’s book tag is Christmas songs. There are so many beautiful songs, so let’s see which ones are included in the Christmas song book tag.

Christmas Song Book Tag 2024

As usual, I’m sticking with the books I read this year.

“All I Want for Christmas Is You”

Favorite bookish couple.

It took over 60 years for this couple to become a couple, but Augusta and Irving are wonderful together.

“I’ll Be Home for Christmas”

Name a book where a character is away from home (school, vacation, etc.)

Remy is away from home on vacation but is also interviewing for a position at the school of her dreams. She’s also on a journey to confess her feelings to her best friend. Bonus points: the book takes place around Christmas.

  • Title: Our Cursed Love by Julie Abe
  • Genre: YA, Magical Realism, Romance
  • Release Date: December 2023

“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”

Name your favorite “little” book (children’s book, short story, novella, etc.)

I read quite a few books that could be considered novellas. As such, I struggled to narrow it down to my favorite. But I decided to pick one that is under 200 pages and is actually just around 150.

“Santa Claus is Coming to Town“

What book(s) do you hope Santa brings you this year?

Looking over the wishlist I shared with family for my birthday and Christmas, I see that it contains roughly 50 items. That includes anticipated releases, notebooks, pens, and decor items, as well as books that are currently available. But I’ll pick one I hope to get without digging too deep into the list.

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”

Which book turned your nose red (made you cry)?

No book made me cry, but there was one that made me angry.

“The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”

Your favorite book/kind of book to read during the holidays.

My favorite kind of book to read during the holidays is romance. The fluffier, the better!

“We Three Kings”

Your favorite trilogy

I managed to read an entire trilogy this year. I’m proud of myself, and it’s one that I enjoyed reading. I’m glad the first book was a random suggestion for me on Libby. The Marion Lane Series is set in late 1950s London and features a twentysomething connected with a secret investigation group trying to solve mysteries.

“Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow”

A character you would love to be snowed in with.

August Hodges would be the perfect person to be snowed in with. Why? He knows how to bake, is a professional football player, and enjoys reading. I suppose Sloane Dell can be there, too. Or better yet, can I hang out with them in San Diego and be stuck there because my flight home is canceled due to the snow?

“Last Christmas”

Name a book that seriously let you down.

I loved Heather Marshall’s debut novel, Looking for Jane. And maybe I’d love her second one if I wasn’t burned out on high-stakes historical fiction. Perhaps I’ll give it another try in the future.

“White Christmas”

An upcoming release you’re dreaming about.

Fans have been waiting for ages for book three in the Legendborn Cycle. Seriously, I was beginning to think Deonn forgot about us.

  • Title: Oathbound by Tracy Deonn
  • Genre: YA, Urban Fantasy
  • Release Date: March 2025

Those are my answers for the Christmas Song book tag. Consider yourself tagged! I would love to know your answers.
