I have something to say about these ideas. I have not made any of them. As such, all images are directly from the blog post where I found the ideas.

I have several ideas pinned on my Pinterest board for a book series that shall not be named. Several ideas are creative and can be made using items not associated with the book series. If you want me to share those ideas, let me know, and I’ll see what I can do.

Felt Book Ornaments from Emily at Two Purple Couches

felt book ornaments felt crafts idea

Felt book ornaments look adorable and quick to whip up a whole bookshelf of books in little to no time. The directions call for red and green felt for the covers, but I don’t see why you couldn’t use any color you want. If you’re handy with a needle and have the time, you could always decorate the covers.

Recycled Little Golden Book Ornaments from Tania at Little Vintage Cottage

Recycled Little Golden Book Ornaments

I know this idea involves damaging books, but you can either make photocopies of the pages or use damaged books. Where can you find books to use? Thrift stores, library book sales, daycares, or your bookshelf. The artwork in the Little Golden Books is always vibrant and nostalgic.

Percy Jackson Nectar and Ambrosia Ornaments from Dayna at Lemon Lime Adventures

DIY Percy Jackson Ornaments

Why have I not made these ornaments yet? I love the Percy Jackson universe, and I’m sure I would love to have these two ornaments on the tree. Oh, could you imagine a whole Percy Jackson-themed tree? Maybe an idea for next year?

Old Book Christmas Ornaments from Valerie at What Have I Done Now

How simple is this ornament to make? Take an old, damaged book, cut the pages into strips, and curl them with scissors. Then, stuff the curls into an ornament. Upcycling at its easiest!

I know, on the face of it, this isn’t a Christmas decoration. But it could be! Add touches of red and green, blue and silver, or even gold. This is another excellent way to upcycle an old book.

Folded Book Christmas Tree from Autumn at It’s Always Autumn

Learn how to make this pretty folded book Christmas tree with an old book from the thrift store. Easy Christmas craft.

This is another recycling idea. Why not use an old book for a decoration like this? Even better, use a Christmas book.

Viral Book Ornament from Caroline at How Did That Book End

What better way to remember the books you’ve read in a given year? You could add a year to each ornament and gently shake it to see the books you’ve read. I have been meaning to make this since I first saw them. Maybe this is the nudge I need to do it finally?

Christmas Book Tree from Ashley at Bigger Than the Three of Us

Stacked book Christmas tree

This is a huge tree! In the post, she says it’s 6.5 feet tall and used roughly 630 books. Yes, you read that number correctly! You don’t need to make your book tree that large, but it’s still a fun idea. Add a few fairy lights, and it’s done.
