Happy Foodie Friday y’all! This week we are taking a look at everyone’s favorite autumn fruit-apples. They are so popular in the autumn that October is Apple month. But have you ever heard about how an apple a day keeps the doctor away? I always wondered if that was true, but it has never been an issue for me as apples are one of my favorite fruits.
Grocery stores are overflowing with a selection of fresh-picked apples this time of year. People have made trips to the apple orchard and now have an abundance of apples. I thought I would help you use your supply of fresh apples by sharing some of my favorite apple recipes from around Pinterest.
Breakfast
Easy Apple Oatmeal Muffins from House of Nash offer the goodness of apples and oatmeal. What could be wrong with that, right?
Apple Cheddar Muffins from wanna come with me: apples AND cheddar cheese? Yes, please! It is one of my favorite snacks, but combining it in a muffin is so much better!
Amazing Apple Bread from Julie Blanner is genuinely amazing! You can make this recipe as 2 regular loaves, 6 mini loaves, or muffins. You can add nuts, a glaze, whatever you want.
Awesome Country Apple Fritter Bread from The Baking ChocolaTess is so delicious! It is more like a coffee cake, but you can also make it into muffins. Want to take it over the top? For the glaze, use the Cinnabon creamer from International Delight. Trust me!
Savory
Apple Cheddar Turkey Panini from the Ontario Apple Growers is a delicious twist on grilled cheese.
Roasted Apple Cinnamon Sweet Potatoes from Skinny Ms are the perfect side dishes!
Holiday Honeycrisp Salad from FIVEheartHome is a light, refreshing salad that could be served any time of year. Add a bit of roasted chicken or turkey, and it’s an entree!
Carrot Apple Soup from Our Salty Kitchen is a delicious blend of two of my favorite foods–apples and carrots. Even better is that they are healthy, full of vitamins and minerals, and easy to find in the autumn!
Dessert
Apple Cinnamon Slab Pie from Natasha’s Kitchen looks like you’ve spent ALL day cooking! I won’t tell your secret if you don’t tell mine!
Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookies from Life, Love and Sugar are perfect little bites of heaven! I have made these with and without the cinnamon chips, and they were good both ways. But the cinnamon chips just made them that much better! I have even used this recipe at my local county fair and won a couple of ribbons!
There you are, a list of 10 of my favorite apple recipes. Now you can have that apple a day!
Let me know what you think of these and if there are any that you think I should check out.
