We are officially halfway through 2025. How has the time gone by so quickly? Please tell me I’m not the only one wondering where the year has gone! Today, I am sharing my 2025 Mid-Year Wrap-Up. What does that mean? I’ll give an overview of reading for the year thus far. It’s also a check-in for any goals or challenges I set in January.

2025 Mid-Year Wrap-Up & Goals Check-In

I discussed all of my goals for 2025 back in January, and you can find that post here. Then, in April, I did a first-quarter check-in, which you can read here.

Now, let’s get to my 2025 mid-year wrap-up!

First up is a quick look at my reading stats in 2025.

Goodreads Goal: 52

As of the end of June, I have smashed this goal. Ok, maybe not smashed, but definitely surpassed. So, how many have I read so far in 2025? A total of 53 books.

Read 26 Owned Books

Out of the 53 books I’ve read, 15 were books I own. A few were DNF, but they are still off my shelf. And that’s all that matters. A side note, I don’t count DNFs as books I’ve finished. But I did include them in the count of 15 books I’ve read off my shelves.

Write 1 Review a Week

This has been an easy goal to achieve. I have had no problem keeping up with writing a review a week. There has been a nice mix of new and backlist books.

Write 2-3 Food Posts a Month

I haven’t been meeting this goal. In six months, I’ve only published five food posts. Yikes! That is a far cry from the 12 I had hoped to post at this point. UGH! I do have a couple of cookbooks to review, so that will help get me at least one a month. I need to give myself some grace and cut this back to one food post a month.

Write 1-2 Creative Posts a Month

Another goal I haven’t been meeting. In total, I’ve published four creative posts. And one of those was part of a Top Ten Tuesday post. I didn’t even complete the 100-Day Project as planned. My creative juices just aren’t flowing. Yet another goal I think I need to cut back to one post a month. Maybe it’ll help me get out of my drought.

Write 1-2 Book Tags a Month

I haven’t published a book tag in a couple of months. They’re fun to do, but they feel a tad repetitive. I need to find some new ones or try to come up with a few of my own. A third goal that I need to cut back to one a month.

Write 1-2 Book Posts a Month

Still haven’t done this! Do I feel bad about it? A little bit! I’ve some ideas I’ve been thinking about, but I haven’t gotten around to doing anything more.

Use Instagram to Promote Blog

I’ve been creating graphics for my book reviews, featuring an image of the cover and providing a few key talking points. I’ve also been sharing most of my TTT posts. Additionally, I’ve been sharing my favorite reads every month. If you have any other ideas, let me know! You can find me at readbakecreate.

Update Old Posts

I haven’t made any progress on this goal since January or February. Whoops!

Update Blog Graphics

While I’ve gotten into a rhythm when creating graphics for my posts. I’m trying to make them similar to each other, yet original, so they don’t get lost in the world of images. However, I would still like to update my main blog graphics.

I’m pleased with how my 2025 goals are progressing. Yes, I know I said there are a few I need to alter. How are your 2025 goals progressing? Have you had to change any of your goals? Do you have any you’re struggling with?

  1. Congratulations on making progress on your reading/blogging goals–and surpassing your Goodreads goal! I’m doing fairly well on the challenges and goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year. I guess time will tell whether I accomplish all of them!
