Happy December, y’all! As today is December 2nd, I felt it was a perfect time to share my bucket list for Christmas 2024. It may be a bit cheaty, as we do some of the same activities every year, but I still wanted to put a list together. Maybe it’s more of a checklist or to-do list than a bucket list. No matter what we call it, let’s check out my Christmas 2024 bucket list.
Visit a Holiday Market
Every year, my city holds a holiday market at the city hall. Sometimes, vendors are outside, but there are always three floors of vendors inside. Last year, my husband and I picked up our ornament for 2023 at the market and enjoyed grilled cheese sandwiches from a food truck outside.
Watch Christmas Eve on Sesame Street
Yes, my kids are grown (22 and 16), but that doesn’t matter. Why? This Christmas special is associated with my childhood. Several years ago, we were privileged to meet Carroll Spinney (the man inside the Big Bird costume) and get him to autograph a VHS copy of the special.
Watch Muppet Family Christmas
This is another special that holds a special place in my heart. For the longest time, I felt like it was a fever dream. Why? Because no one else seemed to remember it ever existing. We have to rely on YouTube to watch this because there doesn’t seem to be any physical copy in print anywhere!
Complete an Advent Calendar
Ok, let me explain before you think, yes, daily chocolate! Over the past two years, my husband and I have worked through escape room advent calendars. We picked one up last Christmas, so we are ready to start on one this year. Occasionally, our youngest will work with us on some of the puzzles. A puzzle that we’ve completed can be found here.
Bake Cookies
I know, I know, this is too easy. But sometimes, I get too busy to bake during the holiday season.
Walk in the Snow
This one is entirely dependent on the weather. Even though we live in Canada, we don’t always have snow in December.
Donate to an Animal Shelter
Why not share some love with some furry friends?
Look at Holiday Lights and Decor
Some houses go all out with lights and decorations! It’s fun to see them all.
Call My Mom
I would like to have a long, leisurely chat with my mom. We had a great time on our trip this past spring, and I would like to have an open and honest talk with her.
Complete My Blogmas Challenge
Go ahead and laugh. Blogmas is a somewhat intimidating challenge, especially as I plan to post every day of December through the 24th at least.
And that is my Christmas 2024 bucket list. Are there any things you hope to do during the holiday season?

That’s a great bucket list! I’m going to have to check out that Muppet special. There’s one that I vaguely remember from my childhood which I haven’t been able to locate, either. Maybe it’s the same special and not a fever dream after all!
I hope it is the one you remember.
