Reading Wrap Up May 2022: Busy Month

Hey, y’all! How was your May? Mine was busy, but it’s always a busy month in my household between Mother’s Day, my oldest daughter’s birthday, and my wedding anniversary. Oh, and let’s not forget a long weekend! Even with all of that, I managed to get a bit more reading done than in April. So let’s check out my reading wrap-up May 2022 edition!

For the second month in a row, I completed my reading challenges. I also got through the four books I mentioned in my April wrap-up. I read seven books (if I include the cookbook) and two audiobooks. Unfortunately, I also had a DNF.

Home Field Advantage: This is a YA contemporary sapphic romance. It introduces readers to Jack Walsh and Amber McCloud, two high school juniors who find themselves falling for each other. For a full review, click here.

Without a Brew: The fourth book in a cozy mystery series. Set in a cozy Washington mountain town.

The Strangers: A multi-generational look at a Metis family in Canada. It discusses how violence and abuse can be passed down through generations.

June TBR

I have one ARC left to read for June, and I’m almost done with it. After that, I have a pile for July and August to work through. I’m not sure which ones I’ll read in June as I have a few other books I hope to read. Including books for my reading challenges. One is Read Christie 2022 from the Official Agatha Christie website, and the other is a Buzzwords Challenge from Kayla over at Books and Lala. I don’t know which Christie book I’ll read yet. The book I’m reading for the Buzzwords Challenge was a Mother’s Day gift from my youngest daughter.

  3. This looks like a really great reading month! I have plans to read and review a cookbook in June, so hopefully I’ll get that finished. Other than that, though, I want to get focused on my reading challenges. I’ve been doing a poor job of keeping up with progress on my annual challenges so far this year, so I want to get focused on that. Great job on the second month in a row of completing your reading challenges!

    (Oh, and side note: I did try the Shepherd’s Mac recipe that I found and linked in the comments last month, and it was quite good. It will be part of my eventual book review, but I wanted to let you know since we’d discussed it earlier.)
